Just ate for the second time in my life here with my mom, my oldest sister, and my brother in law. I have to say that I’m more impressed than I was last time simply because they did some renovations and got some new furniture like some really nice wooden chairs with like lacquer portraits of people on the back and Spanish apparel. It’s also a place for great birthday parties fun games or getting drunk on the weekend with friends but I actually don’t drink so that’s for the ones that do! Lol oh and very nice staff clean restrooms and free Wi-Fi you just have to ask for the password!
The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa they give when they seat you taste fresh and crispy, and the salsa is refreshing and spicy. In my opinion, it was the perfect spice level–noticeable but neither overwhelming nor too mild.
The vegetarian quesadilla was really good and very filling, especially since it comes with a whole other plate filled with beans and rice. They don’t skimp on the veggies, and whatever sauce they cook them in is delicious and very flavorful but also quite salty. The rice did not smell like I expected it to, but it was still tasty, as were the beans.
Coming from out of town, I had my doubts but I’m willing to give anything a try once.
This place FAR exceeded my expectations and more!
The building is cozy.
Great customer service as soon as I walked in.
Music was cool
The food was damn good! I mean absolutely amazing! I haven’t had shrimp like that in a decade!
I would have never expected a restaurant so off the beaten trail to be THAT good!
I wish I could add a few more stars to this ranking! Look at my other reviews, I don’t give out 5 stars likely!
They even turned on the game for us. Great place to eat.
The frozen margaritas are my favorite! I could go for these and chips and cheese dip alone! (But I don’t!) The chicken taquitos are my favorite meal. Crispy, tender, and filled with juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken. They were an absolute delight, especially with the guacamole, sour cream and cheese dip on the side.
The Texas rice is my husband’s favorite meal. It is always flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the serving is huge so there are always leftovers!
The meals and margs are always a treat, but the people and atmosphere also set Pancho’s apart in a great way. If you’re craving mouthwatering Mexican food with great drinks, this place is a 10/10. As usual, we can’t wait to come back!
While I have no idea who “Mr. Kennedy” is, I don’t agree with how Pancho’s at the Lake chose to handle the recent holiday hours complaint.
The issue isn’t about the brief closure, it’s about professionalism. As a business advertising on Google, there is a basic responsibility to ensure the information, especially crucial details like operating hours, is correct. Choosing not to update your Google Business Profile because it is “a hassle” is a disservice to your customers, particularly tourists and non-locals who rely exclusively on that platform.
Furthermore, publishing a public post that “blasts” a specific customer’s review is unprofessional and frankly, messy. It would have been cleaner and more professional to simply ask Google to remove the review or respond to the complaint directly on the platform, rather than engage in an online argument with customers.
Food for thought: Updating your online hours is essential to providing good customer service, and arguing with customers online is generally considered poor business practice.
