I recently stopped by the Hy-Vee Market Grille at the 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue location in Sioux Falls for their Saturday breakfast buffet, and wow—it was absolutely amazing!
From the moment we sat down, everything felt fresh and inviting. The buffet spread was impressive: fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and sausage, golden hash browns, made-to-order omelets, piles of fresh fruit, warm biscuits with gravy, pancakes, and a great selection of pastries and yogurt. Everything tasted homemade and was kept perfectly stocked and hot—no dried-out trays here.
The variety was spot-on for a weekend brunch, and the quality really stood out. It felt like a step above your typical grocery store eatery—more like a dedicated restaurant experience. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot-on, and it was an incredible value for the price.
The staff were friendly and attentive, keeping coffee refills coming and clearing plates quickly. The seating area is comfortable and modern, with a casual vibe that’s perfect for families or a relaxed morning out.

The staff and food are great. Selection is amazing. My only complaint is my food (advertised on a sale price) didnt ring up and the staff were unaware. I had the same experience with the grocery store sales – so its just a weird experience to have to watch your prices so carefully.

Food is great if you can manage to get what you actually ordered. Missing two orders of eggs and a side of bacon. I call and let them know and get hung up on after explaining what I was missing. Sycamore location

Waited a very long time for our breakfast. Was luke warm at best when we got it. Areas need to be cleaned, dust, spills, etc. It was not that busy when we were there and yet it took way too long to get our food. Not impressed at all at the Sycamore location. Won’t eat there again.

We went there a second time today after a less than ideal 1st experience a few months ago. Unfortunately, today we waited 20 minutes at our table and weren’t even offered waters. Completely ignored after we were seated. So we left without ordering anything.
