I loved the old location for its charm but it was so small. The new location has so much more room! Still the same great food and friendly people. It’s the perfect down home breakfast spot.

So, a friend and I were on our way back from a funeral showing in Waymansville and on our way back he asked if I would Google breakfast places on our trip back to Indianapolis, I agreed to and found this diner on the map. We stopped in and were met by the wonderful hostess who seated us and looked at the menu and we both decided on the Hardy Breakfast. Let me tell you, when our waitress brought our food out it looked amazing. The biscuits and gravy brought my childhood back to when my grandma would make it for breakfast. Hands down the best I’ve ever had. We finished our meal and decided that we would visit in the near future. 10/10 would definitely highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a hearty meal.

My mom and I met for brunch recently and while it was a simple, no-frills menu, the well-cooked meal + high-quality ingredients (that bacon! ) were a pleasant surprise. The chocolate chip pancake took me right back to my childhood…

Me and my family ordered a cater Christmas.
My grandparents are up there in age and not in very well health, so I thought it would be best to order Christmas diner instead of standing and cooking all day in a hot kitchen.
Yes we waited a day or 2 to pick the order up.
But still yet our food should of not looked like it did!…
Bland no seasoning no nothing added to it, literally just thrown in a pan giving it no justice at all.
We had to go out and spend more money to put in the food they made to make it look and taste better! We paid 233$ for this order… I contacted the manager which then had me give her my phone number to give to Sarah… I explained her the situation and she was very polite… But I told her I’d want at least half my money back! She then told me she would talk with her husband because he deals with all the financial matters.
I have called the line and it’s busy or they may have just blocked my number… A call back or even a free dinner or something would be nice.
I used to go here in the mornings for breakfast cause yes they have decent food but I will never go back and give them my money!. Trying to figure out a way to post pictures… She doesn’t want her family diner have a bad REP well now it does! I hope anyone ordering a big cater or a Cater in general sees this!

I happened to be off work for the week and decided to try Rohde’s after a couple of colleagues told me about this place. I went for breakfast two times that week. I will try anything on a menu at least once. So my first round was the Biscuit-less Biscuit n Gravy meal. The second time I had the Early Riser with Sausage patty, and crispy fried potatoes (by request). The service was great, food was excellent, and the atmosphere busy but still able to read or have a discussion with someone. Cashing out was quick and easy also. Just remember this place gets a big crowd pretty much every day so be patient. The food here is like home cooked with the taste, the portion sizes, and the looks. So if you want fast food save all of us a parking spot and move along to one of the other food establishments just down the street. And with that all I will say is if your out and about hit the Rohde’s Family Diner and support a local establishment.

Great breakfast food. Nice, big dining room. Super-clean ladies’ room. Friendly servers and clientele. I was here on a Saturday morning, got there just about opening time, 8AM. By the time I left it was starting to get somewhat busy — 9:45 or so. Looks like the diner is popular with Columbus locals.

I stopped here for lunch at Noon on a Tuesday and the place was packed. There is not a lot of atmosphere in this place, but it had a lot of tables and could serve a bunch of people.

My server came right over and gave me a menu and took my drink order. The menu was not large, but there should be something for everyone. When she came back with my drink, I ordered the fried bologna sandwich with double meat. I also ordered the house chips instead of the French fries.

After quite a wait, approx. 20 minutes my food came out and I noticed the sandwich was on a bun instead of white bread as shown on the menu. Also, there were three pieces of bologna there. If this was double the meat, the normal portion only had 1-1/2 slices?? I thought that was weird. It was served with American cheese. The sandwich was good, and the bologna was tasty and on the greasy side, but delicious.

The house made chips were spectacular… I would get those everyday if I lived in the area. They were crisp and had a body to them because they were on the thick side. They were very good.

Overall, this was a great place to eat. The food was good. The service was great and the prices were really reasonable. I will stop here again when I’m in the area.

If you want to eat somewhere that is legit homemade cooking then this is it! No where in Columbus compares to Rohde’s Diner. We have been to all the mom and pop restaurants, all the “hole in the wall” restaurants and not one compares to here. Everything is legitimately homemade and cooked to order. Today was my first time eating here and I can say I will not eat breakfast anywhere else while living in Columbus, Indiana. You get twice the portion of any big name restaurants at half the price. This place hands down is the best. And the atmosphere and service here was as good as the food. I’ve never been to eat anywhere that I literally felt like I was home. I felt like I was down home at my mamaw’s house. I can keep going on about this place.but you’ll have to try it for yourself. There aren’t enough review stars for this place! Thank you all for the best time I’ve ever had at a restaurant, my family and I will definitely return.

Very good, affordable food. Sarah (owner) is very friendly and runs a good restaurant, she couldn’t do it without her staff though, either. Good example of working as a team. Chicken sandwich and chicken tenders have a really good, light breading. Daily specials! Only thing they need is gravy for the mashed potatoes 😉 Haven’t tried breakfast yet, but it looks great! Chocolate Chip Cookies are huge and delicious!

I love this place. They have the best fried potato’s, biscuits and gravy, and crepes!! I drive down from Greenwood to eat here a few times a month. My only complaint is that they close for “small” holidays and wished they would be open more. You can’t go wrong with any breakfast food on the menu.
