We had dinner here tonight. It was absolutely incredible. Shout out to the chefs for our amazing meals, me & my partner could not believe how good our seafood was. I had the chilli crab main meal. My god i loved it. Staff were so nice, Meal timing was great. We will be back. Thank you!!

The most expensive bad food we have ever had. Nothing we ordered on the menu was fresh. Frozen prawns were the worst. Salad with entees was disgusting. Spring rolls were worse than a “NO FRILLS” brand from any supermarket. The cocktail we ordered contained little or no alcohol. We left before we ordered a main course and went next door to BUBS and had the best fresh fish ever, they deserve their awards.
The Wharf venue is old and worn out. Every table is marked, the stairs are missing step treads on every third stair. Do not think there is a spring in your step when navigating to your table, the floor moves in an uncomfortable way.
There is a broken window, a sign about lost children given espresso and a kitten from the 1970’s.
I cannot say any more without getting angry about our very poor experience.

The venue was very nice , staff were fantastic , my Barramundi wasn’t cooked very well , skin wasn’t crispy and flesh was ” soggy ” , looked good though .My partners Lobster Mornay was , i thought very expensive at $90 a half , but she said it was cooked very well and probably the best shes ever had , so .. money worth spent .

The food was absolutely next-level. Each dish was packed with flavour and clearly made with top-quality ingredients. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and cooked to perfection, easily a standout.

Even without a kids menu, nothing was missed. The chicken schnitzel and mac & cheese were perfect for our children. generous, and so delicious they cleaned their plates completely. As adults, we did exactly the same. Every dish was faultless.

To top it all off, the staff were amazing. Warm, attentive, and welcoming, they made the whole experience even better. Friendly without being overbearing, and incredibly accommodating for a family dining out. Incredible food, wonderful service, and a place we can’t wait to return to.

This was a last minute decision to eat here. What a great choice. Food was fresh and lovingly arranged on our plates. The waitstaff were attentive and very welcoming. We will definitely be returning.

While service from the staff was good when we arrived, it deteriorated rapidly as the evening progressed. During our meals, we had to ask repeatedly for empty plates to be removed from the table. The staff delivered our desserts and walked away leaving all the dirty main course plates on the table. At the time we left, not one single person said, “Thank you.”, or “See you again”. We felt invisible.

DO NOT DINE HERE!! The worst dining experience I’ve had. Carpet smells like wee. Dust on all fans and lights. Glasses were dirty.
Awful food and flat Pepsi advertised as coke. Thick tastless sashimi covered in tasteless sauce. Overcooked baby octopus and chewy scallops. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN

We were recommended this restaurant by a local business identity, who informed us if you mentioned their name the proprietors would ‘really look after you’. Sadly, this was very far from our experience. On entering the almost deserted room, we were asked “do you have a booking’. When we said no, the attendant’s face was disapproving and unfriendly. Eventually we were shown to a table, given menus without any further word, and then waited over 20 minutes before our order was taken. We waited another 45 minutes for our small meals to arrive. At no stage were we asked if everything was alright, or if we wanted anything else. Other diners seated at the window were given full attention, while we were virtually ignored. On packing up to leave, the attendant finally asked us if we wanted any further drinks. As we were standing with our bags, it seemed somewhat of an afterthought. We paid the bill and left, disappointed and upset at the experience.

I had read some of the reviews before coming to The Wharf for dinner. Some were great, some terrible.

My advice, come try it for yourself.

The food was excellent, the service great. All three ladies who served us were helpful and lovely. Sitting eating excellent seafood while soaking in the view and feeling the breeze, what could be better. Shame we live 360km from here otherwise we would be regulars.

I’m really saddened to not enjoy this place as i wanted to love it as my last dinner in nelson bay, the food was really a let down nothing i ordered was enjoyable, for starters, the sashimi wasn’t really sashimi it looked more like offcuts or cut into tiny pieces, the bbq octopus was overcooked and not enjoyable, also to mention the small portions , the mains were just as bad , my fish was overcooked not crispy skin i did ask for a new one which the waiter kindly accommodated, the risotto wasn’t enjoyable tasted like a paella i’ve had from aldi nothing much to it, and the mahi mahi was similar overcooked and nothing that makes it worth the $43 dollars, im okay with spending money but as long as the food is enjoyable and makes my night , this made the end to my trip dissapointing
