I was super excited for this place to open. Finally a place where I could get all the great Latino food under one roof. Unfortunately, I was let down bad. From the moment we walked in. Zero signage does one wait to be seated? does one sit down? We had to flag down a waiter to ask. He proceeded to sit us in a table that was not wiped down. We understood it was busy so meh we sat down.

He instructed us that he just served the drinks and we were to self serve at the buffet. So we proceeded to serve ourselves. Unfortunately most of the options were out as you can see in the pictures. Some of the options didn’t have a name so we didn’t know what they were. Food was mild, the drinks took forever to get. Someone in our party literally had to get up and go get it at the bar because the waiter never brought it.

The people next to us were literally vaping, the garage doors were open, it’s November!

It was definitely not worth $20 a person, buffet is never full and there really is no variety in Latino foods or at least none that I could see.

We were a party of 8, and when we first saw the initial reviews, we were unsure how the experience will go, but we gave a shot.

Once we got to the restaurant, the whole experience was great, and I believe that the restaurant has fine tuned based on the earlier reviews that they received (considering that this restaurant just opened, it is expected to have some operation issue)!

Food—> They got a ton of selection of different meat (pork, chicken, and beef) and shrimp. Everything was very tasty, and I actually enjoyed the food from the buffet quite a lot. I personally will come back again if they can keep up this quality, and the price was very fair considering the latest inflation. If there are any interesting seasonal Latino food, I would be excited to try, and well done!

I’m leaving a review to provide feedback but I did not eat here. I was hoping to. I followed the printed directions and was waiting to be seated but no one came and talked to me for over 10 mins. Multiple people just walked in and sat down to eat. When someone did talk to me, I asked if there was anything vegetarian on the buffet. They said they didn’t know. I asked if there were markers on the tag that would tell me if something was vegetarian friendly, they said they didn’t know. I looked online but the menu online didn’t share any information about the buffet or what’s on it. I went up to look at the buffet and the food looks delicious, there were tags with the name of dishes but nothing indicating what’s in the dishes, so no way of knowing allergens, whether something is vegetarian or not etc. For these reasons, I did not eat here today and will give them more time to provide info for their customers and hopefully try again. I have provided pics so people can see instructions and the prices of buffet which I could not find on the website. The decor was very cute, but the place is small.

The buffet was poorly labeled so I did not know what I was eating. Most of the food was good but there was a few dishes that I wasn’t sure I just didn’t like it or if it had been sitting on the buffet too long. I was the most disappointed in the Columbian spot juices. I thought the juice would be similar to the ones from the restaurant with the same name but it was just some fruit blended into water or milk. They switched our drinks and the one I wanted was made with milk and the one my partner wanted was made with water when though the sever checked multiple times for it to be correct and they were out of the fruit my partner originally ordered.

Me and my boyfriend were so excited once we heard of a Latino buffet coming to the area. We watched the Instagram to see when they’d be open. On opening day we came and once there were immediately disappointed.
Most of the dishes were chicken, Where was the variety? & not only that we never even knew what we were eating because they had no names on any of the items. People could have allergies, dislike an item, overall not want to eat something and we had no clue what we were eating. Our son was 9 & we paid 10.95 for his meal of rice, beans and 1 piece of chicken. Kids should be less unless you have more variety for the kids. Maybe Mac&Cheese/Chicken Tenders etc? Then the 18.95 for me and my Boyfriend only to eat a couple pieces of Chicken with salad and some beans/tortilla. Anytime I tried to ask what something was no one understood what I was saying…I’d like to try again, but feel I shouldn’t have been charged what I did for what was eaten that day and how things happened

Latino Spot in Oakland is great! Staff are very welcoming and friendly, service was quick, the location is convenient and the restaurant is very spacious, good spot for a quick lunch between classes or for enjoying a hearty meal with friends and family. And so much food at a reasonable price! Freaking delicious I’m glad there’s a buffet in town featuring classic dishes that remind me of home The chicken coconut stew is one of my favs. There are also vegetarian options

This is the first review I’ve ever written, and I wish it were under better circumstances. I’m genuinely angry and disappointed. The prices are outrageous for the poor quality of food they serve. It was obvious the food wasn’t freshly cooked—it tasted reheated and lifeless. For what they’re charging, I expected far better.

I understand this is a new restaurant, but that’s no excuse for serving subpar food at premium prices. If this is the standard they’re going with, I honestly don’t see them lasting more than a month.

Came on the grand re-opening/rebranding.

Food was excellent. Will definitely be coming back. Please do come and try their food. As a Dominican living in Western PA, this is the closest to home I have found.

A little disorganized and crowded (to be expected on an opening day) so service was almost non-existent.

Can’t wait to come back soon!~
