The food? Absolutely out of this world! Every course – from appetizers to main dishes to desserts – was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.
We were especially impressed when the chef personally came to our table to ask for feedback. It’s clear they care deeply about the quality of their food and guest satisfaction.
Highly recommend a visit – this place is a gem!
We were greeted by a member of the staff that was to valet our car. This staff member was wearing a baseball hat skew, chains around the neck hanging outside of their clothes, and smelled STRONGLY of marijuana. Not a great start and not someone I would want to have valet my car. And to no surprise, when we returned our car smelled of weed.
Upon entering the establishment we thought the bones of the place were great but the decor was quite bad. The tables that were set up were awkwardly placed, they had folding plastic tables draped with pink table cloths and horrible chair covers. Further there were fairy lights hung up on some of the old iron work that really, in our opinion, cheapened the atmosphere. Once again, small details that missed the mark and ruined the feel of the restaurant.
We then were served our drinks and both of our orange slices with our cocktails were previously used for zesting and were missing a large part of the rind. This made of quite a laugh for us since we did not expect that for a $12 drink.
The food when it came out was decent. The lamb was cooked well and tasted very good, the ribeye although being cooked the way that was requested had about 3-4 oz that were strictly fat and not the typical ratio of meat to fat in the fat cap. Worth the $65? Not in my eyes.
At the end of the night we concluded that to pay for two people to both have drinks a main course and sparkling water, it should not have been close to $200 and was not worth the value.
A lot left to be desired with The Farm House. I would try a different place before coming back to this restaurant.
Old Stone is a place with excellent service and food. Every dish is delicious and well-presented, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. It’s a true gem on the island, perfect for enjoying any occasion.
