Le Petit Jardin Cafe

  4.4 – 370 reviews   • French restaurant

Our doors opened in 1976 at the Historic Kentucky Military Institute Building. Residents and visitors alike have raved about Le Petit Jardin’s distinctive European style fare and unique bistro atmosphere. After fourteen years of growth and success Le Petit Jardin had outgrown its original space. With a vision and plan to maintain the café’s original concept and authentic recipes, we relocated the café, to its current home at the Galleria on Venice Avenue in 2010. The design incorporates the old world feel with modern amenities that makes Le Petit Jardin one of Venice’s most unique and pleasurable dining experiences. We welcome you to relax and allow our staff to make this a most enjoyable dining experience! Bon Appétit!

Long-running French nook with an old-world feel offering breakfast & lunch dishes, plus wine & beer.

We had an exceptional meal with friendly, helpful service. We were encouraged to pick whatever table we wanted so we sat right next to the lovely mural. Our server (we believe she is the owner) answered all of our questions and we picked the crepe special, which was a smaller crepe with choice of French onion soup or salad. Soup was fantastic and so was the ginger mandarin salad dressing. The crepes – a chicken and a spinach/bacon one – were delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Tried for the first time today for lunch. Atmosphere nice and menu looked good. Asked if the “creamy mushroom sauce” was smooth or did it have big chunks of mushrooms. Waiter replied that the chef said not big pieces of mushrooms. Arrived with big slices of mushrooms. Showed waiter. Was told “you took a risk” when ordered mushroom cream sauce. Owner just offered a discount on price. Not the responses I expected. Disappointed in the service. Otherwise, the food was good.

Oh my word! I was blown away at this place. It is the perfect little get away for lunch. I was captivated by its quaintness and delicate appeal. I felt like I was transported to Paris (I’ve never been but this is what I imagined a Cafe would be like in Paris). The food was exquisite! I had the chowder while my friend had the French Onion Soup (hearing her moan with each spoonful made me wish I had gotten it too – but my soup was good as well). I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on croissant (sorry, I was so excited I forgot to take a pic). It was filling and seasoned perfectly. The dessert was very good too (see pic). But honestly the best part of the experience is the cozy atmosphere. I’m definitely a fan! Oh yes… I’ll be returning very soon.

We went there for the first time.
Nice Cafe. It is hard to find if you do not know where it is.
You have to know their location.

The smell there is wiered. But you can use it fast.

The food is good. Portion is small -europian size.

Coffee is Amazing good.

Crapes are very bad. I am from Europe too, I know how to make crapes.

Sandwich was great. Lots of meet and good sauce.

The potato salad is the Best in Venice!

Waitress is very nice girl. Love her.

I put 4 stars because they added 20% ! Tips automatically!

Hmm..why is it? 15-18% tips is good, since all food coast went up,they already have a big increase in their wages. Why would I pay 20% of tips for 2 people? If I had 8 people, lots of work etc..I understand 20%, but for 2 people… no.

I think I will not go back. I am not rich enough to pay 20%. I am a cook and I do not get any tips at work.

It’s so sad that greed is everywhere.

I guess you prefer to take 20% tips once, than to have 15-18% every week.
Thank you. Good luck.

20% of tips added, I didn’t appreciate it.
Otherwise, the food was alright, it’s a change from American food.
