Verbena Still Delivers for Our Anniversary❣️
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Verbena (our fourth visit since they opened), hoping it would be special—and it more than lived up to expectations. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance, service, and flavors reminded us why this place has become one of our favorites.
We started with the dinner rolls (soft, warm, served with whipped honey butter) and then moved on to the fish of the day and the pan-seared trout—both beautifully executed, fresh, and satisfying. The trout, especially, struck the perfect balance of texture and seasoning.
What makes Verbena so compelling is its seasonally driven contemporary menu, its focus on fresh seafood and elevated American cuisine, along with a thoughtful wine list and craft cocktails. Their staff always impress: friendly, informed, and truly invested in making your evening memorable.

• Excellent consistency: every visit feels reliable and elevated
• Fantastic seafood & trout dishes
• Dinner rolls are a standout and must-order
• Warm, knowledgeable service & inviting atmosphere
• Strong cocktail & wine program, and scenic patio seating 
Cons
• Can get quite busy, so reservations are wise
• Noise level can rise when the restaurant is full (ask for a quieter table)

Bread Pudding, Cucumber Gimlet, and Chicken Milanese — 10/10. Every bite was incredible! The chicken was perfectly crisp, the bread pudding was rich and comforting, and the cucumber gimlet was refreshingly balanced. The setting in Meadow Brook Park made it all even better — peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect backdrop for an amazing meal.

Met girlfriends, cozy booth, atmosphere not too loud so we could chat and catch up. Ambiance was very inviting, upscale but relaxed. Crafted cocktails were inventive and enticing- I had Persephone’s Regret- very balanced not to mention delish. Friends had what they described “best nonalcoholic champagne” they’d ever had. Bang bang shrimp was fresh and perfectly spiced. I ordered the salmon, it was fresh, flaky, and hot. The special of the night was grilled cod with scallops-recieved rave reviews from friends. Honorable mention- clam chowder. There are non-seafood options available- chicken and steak. THE SERVICE- amazing. Felt very well taken care of and wanted for nothing. Fried apple pie was a dream- thank goodness it’s small!

The restaurant was beautiful with nice ambiance but very loud. We had to shout at times to hear each other. The hostess was nice and offered to take our coats. The server was very attentive but seemed a bit short with us at times. There was a nice wine selection by the bottle, but very limited selections by the glass with mediocre wines. We ordered the rainbow trout, linguini with clams, a side of french fries, a side of brussel sprouts and the vanilla creme brulee for dessert. The trout had nice flavor but the skin was soggy, and the plate was loaded with more vegetables than fish. The linguini was nicely cooked and the sauce was delicious, just very little clams and the slices of garlic were a bit raw. Fries were good, brussels were good but a little too sweet (too much maple syrup), creme brulee was on the looser side but the fruit topping was good.

Excellent food and service with unique and traditional menu options in an upscale atmosphere. Great selection of cocktails and handpicked wine list. Definitely recommend giving Verbena a try, if you are looking for an intimate setting.
This was my first time trying a poached fish dish, which I enjoyed. I would recommend the shrimp appetizer. There is a bar here with a great list of options, however we sat in the restaurant and enjoyed our cocktails at a table.

We hosted a baby shower here, and it was a wonderful experience. Anna worked with me on all my crazy requests, Tara helped me with special drinks, the service from Matthew was incredible, and the food was fantastic. They had such attention to detail, constantly busing the table, so there were no extraneous dishes. They went above and beyond to help me bring my event to life was just fantastic. I highly recommend!

Taylor was our server and she was fabulous. Drinks were wonderful. Food was delicious. Hubby had scallops and I had the pork chop. Will definitely visit again. Pink drink is harvest moon and sweater weather in first picture. Second drinks are harvest moon and spice up your life. Loved them all
