Our family of five had dinner here and honestly, it felt like we were transported straight to Japan. The lanterns, the sakura wallpaper, the calm atmosphere — everything was so beautiful and peaceful.
We ordered sushi, chicken katsu, sesame chicken, tofu with rice, and squid rings. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and came out at the perfect time. I especially loved the miso soup — warm, simple, and just right.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the boss was surprisingly young — such a polite and respectful gentleman. You can tell everyone here really cares about what they do.
This place has great food, great vibes, and great people. Can’t wait to come back again!
^^^^^ 2023 UPDATE ^^^^^
After dining here with family dozens of times over the past few years, I must/shall give this place my Highest Rating Ever!!:
FIVE THUMBS UP!
Consistently GREAT Sushi
And the Bento Box Specials are always delicious and reasonably priced. The three item dinner special is as good as it looks as pictured with the teriyaki salmon! Dine-in for the full experience — Love this place!
Onto talking about the food. I had two sushi rolls. The rolls had thin slivers of raw fish on top. I was hoping for wee bit thicker cuts. But I can’t complain. Pricing is advertised at 50% off. The 50% pricing for what was served is comparable to other similar sushi places in Folsom and EDH. The flavors are on point. Hubs had the three item bento with mixed tempura, sesame chicken, and fried chicken gyoza. $18.95. It came with miso soup, white rice, and salad. All yummy and fresh tasting. Is it culinary genius?!? Not quite, but sure is downright comforting and tasty.
But the place is cozy smallish and a bit cramped to accommodate 14. So for large parties of folks, if you’re interested, you should check out the accommodations ahead of time to make sure it meets your needs.
3 years ago review: Initially I avoided this place because of the gimmicky “half off” (which makes things you know… regular price) menu. Finally tried it for a family take out dinner and I’m disappointed I hadn’t gone sooner! Ordering over the phone the gal was accurate, very pleasant. The menu indicates which items are gluten free (nice) and due to allergy I requested that my rolls were separate from the others (nailed it – everything for 4 people was perfectly packaged). They had gluten free/tamari sauce. I tend to stick to the simple rolls due to allergy. The others in the party got the teriyaki chicken entree (very good – well cooked but tender and juicy; excellent salad dressing), unagi & tempura rolls (tasty and delicious) and chopped scallop handroll, tekka maki. Order was on time for pickup and staff were very nice and efficient. I’ll definitely come back!
