Cassava left us with smiles and full bellies. Service was impeccable and the restaurant is super cute! The beverages were delicious we tried a passion fruit and guava beverage they taste so good and fresh. Our meals were delicious! Only recommendation was less salt on the chicken and the tostones would benefit from some adobe seasoning. Let’s not forget about the pastries (Not pictured) absolutely delicious!!! We had a flan de coco and quesillo! We cannot wait to come back and try something new! Oh the pernil was our favorite!

This place was absolutely mind-blowing! I cannot overstate how delicious every single thing we had was: the mofongo was so flavorful with the garlic broth; the pernil was melt-in-your-mouth tender; the pasteles were well-steamed and flavorful. Absolutely check this place out, it’s such a gem!

It smells unreal in there! Sooooo good! They do incredible juicy slow cooked pork and homemade bread!!! I got the cubano sandwich and it was perfection. The bread was crispy on the outside and pillowy in the middle. The pork was juicy with a delightful flavor that you wanna savor. The pink sauce they served with it is sooo tasty. We had to ask for extra because we were greedy with it. Very friendly and fast service too. I would definitely come back to try more menu items. We also got two types of flan (coconut and vanilla original) and a biscoff cookie butter tres leches. I loved both flans but the vanilla was my favorite. I could skip the tres leches but it wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t as flavorful as others I’ve had before.

We had the carne frita encebollada with arroz mamposteado, sancocho with white rice and avocado, and the empanada tripleta. The carne frita was so good. it was fried to the perfect texture. the meat was tender and delicious. My bf liked the arroz mamposteado it was well seasoned. The Sancocho broth was so good. the vegetables and meat were tender and paired really well with the avocado and white rice. The thing we liked most was the empanada tripleta, the perfect meaty and salty taste of it was so good. When we can afford to we will be coming back again. Everything was very tasty including the lemonade.

The main reason I come to this Puerto Rican diner is for their pastries — especially the guayaba pastelillo. It’s one thing I’ll never forget. Every time I walk in to order it, it’s a guaranteed hit. Sweet, flaky, and full of flavor — it honestly makes me so happy. If you love guava pastries, this place is a must-visit!

Simply put, if you value consistency and good customer service, stay away. Imagine attempting to place an order and the server having a full blown side bar conversation on her personal phone that has nothing to do with her actual job.. yes, that was my experience. If you read the reviews, you’ll quickly pick up on the customer service or lack thereof, as a common theme. It doesn’t matter if the restaurant is empty or busy, when/if the server feels like taking your order unless you go up to the counter after becoming impatient from waiting, expect a MINIMUM 45+ minute wait depending on order. Lastly, its very easy to tell when a native Puerto Rican is operating the kitchen and when there is not, the food speaks on its behalf. If nothing I’ve said discourages your desire to visit, I hope you get to experience it on one of their good days. As I alluded to it in the beginning, consistency is lacking. Bring your wallets and deep pockets, you will need them. Sadly but unsurprisingly, the portions served don’t correlate with the prices charge. ✌️ Cassava.

Found this restaurant while visiting El Paso East, first time trying Puerto Rico’s food, we ordered the Cassa-Sampler, our son love the wings, tostones and maduros were delicious. Additionally I got the Pernil, very tasty meat.

This Puerto Rican restaurant really delivered with quality, authentic food. Everything was new to the taste, but it was so delicious. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re on the east side. It’s part of a little shopping plaza, so there’s a parking lot.
