The Tavern at Spring Hill serves authentic Italian and American cuisine and offers a full bar service. Housed in a historic building that adds charm and character, we also provide catering services and can host private parties or gatherings. We also have guest rooms available for those looking to stay overnight. It’s the perfect blend of delicious food, rich history, and warm hospitality.

It’s such a shame that when they redecorated from the previous Altnaveigh Inn restaurant, they lost the ambience. Now it’s just plain looking. It Used to look like a pretty old restaurant. From the other side, the food here is excellent each time we’ve come.
Tonight we had herb chicken and mashed potatoes with Fresh squash, which was tasty and they gave you a very good portion. We also have the Buddha salad for the second time and it’s excellent. The turkey soup which was spot on.
If they had a decorator come in to give it a cozy old tavern Inn as the vibe when you walked in, I think more people would come because the potential is definitely there and the drinks are also good.
The service is always with a smile and they will try to accommodate you as much as they can. They’re very sweet..
Pricing is average it’s not over the top

The spring hill inn… oh my. Do I have so much say about it. When it comes to food, the best ive ever tasted. The chocolate lava cake, the choclate that seems out is beutiful chocolatly perfection. All wrapped in soft cake. The pasta is amazing, my favorite. My absolute favorite. Just thinking about it makes me want to drive there right now and buy five plates of the chicken parm a la vodka. The creamy sauce with a perfectly umami balanced taste. Alongside the cultural aspects of the resturant. When you enter, its a classic diner setting, when you walk jnt here is a side table showing a bit of Nepali culture, beautifula nd imformative display. The people. Amazing, no words. So nice, always make you feel like family and serve you with so much joy, making you left even happier. In your stomach, you don’t just feel the delicious food but a warm joy that you can only get at a place like spring hill inn. Kudos to the owner, Bharat Neupane.

Loved it here, went on a date with my boyfriend and our server Janaki made it a pleasant experience. I got the blackened chicken Caesar salad and it was magnificent (I’m a picky eater). I enjoyed visiting and will definitely be back, Janaki definitely made it worth coming. She was very kind and easy going, I’m not a social person in the slightest so it’s very helpful when there’s a server like her making it a lot easier. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked in just the right amount. The atmosphere wasn’t overwhelming either which is a must need for me. Will for sure be back.

I stopped in for lunch at The Tavern at Spring Hill on a quiet weekend before exploring some local history. The setting was pleasant and uncrowded, which made for a relaxed start to the day. I ordered the handheld turkey sandwich—while the bread and toppings were fresh, the turkey itself looked and tasted a bit stale, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the fries were crisp and flavorful, and my drink was just right. Service was warm and friendly, with plenty of smiles, which added to the experience.

Underwhelming experience for dinner. The place felt cold, overly bright lights, and plain atmosphere. Slow service with only one person working doing everything. The booth seats are not very comfortable when you can feel every move in your back of the person sitting behind you. Kinda sad for a place in such a great location with so much potential.

We had a Sunday afternoon family dinner at The Tavern, which is part of the Spring Hill Inn and were delighted with the experience. The menu is varied, everyone was highly complimentary about their choices, and the service was professional and prompt.

Varied choices on menu. Everything was superb!! Over heard patrons next table over raving about their masala and black & blue burger. Our seafood risotto was packed with shrimp, scallops & lobster..

**Allergies Warning** Terrible experience at this restaurant with my family. I have life threatening allergies, including to mushrooms, which I communicated very clearly (I have an allergy card which I gave the server right away and which she took to the kitchen).
Nevertheless a few minutes after I started eating my meal, to my horror I found a piece of mushroom in the middle of my “vegetable medley”. When alerted, the server apologized perfunctorily and comped the dish which is honestly the absolute bare minimum (my meal was less than a quarter eaten—thankfully). No real response to the fact that they ruined our whole meal—not to mention risked my life. The rest of the family’s meals were not that great either. Bottom line, steer far clear of this place especially if you have any kind of allergies or sensitivities.

Zero atmosphere when I went for early dinner.
Food was tasty but didn’t feel worth the fine dining price tag.

The Tavern at Spring Hill recently opened under a second new management occupies the location that was once the Altnaveigh Restaurant between Storrs Center and Willimantic. We were pleased to discover that the food is very good and the value for meals and service is excellent.
I had baked scallops well prepared and plentiful with excellent sides of broccoli and rice. My wife had the herb roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli, also excellent. We topped it off with sorbet for her and key lime pie (actually a cheesecake with key lime flavoring). Altogether a fine evening out.
