The wife got a NY deli sandwich… so piled high. She loved it. My Reuben was perfect! Onion rings were tasty – half order enough for two people.
The breakfast menu looked really good. May have to come back for breakfast before we head home.

I stopped by this New York-style deli and was impressed. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was everything you’d hope for—crispy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, and melty cheese on a fresh roll. The French toast was just as amazing—golden, fluffy, and with just the right amount of sweetness.
Prices were more than fair, especially for the quality of the food. The service was excellent—fast, friendly, and attentive. The owner was incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience feel personal and genuine.

We are from NJ/NY. And missed our NY deli. This place is outstanding. The fantastic deli smell brought us in and the sandwich we got- the large -was huge. The meats were fresh and delicious. Their bread was real rye bread and the pickles were fantastic. My husband and I shared 1 sandwich. It was just like a NJ sloppie Joe. Tomorrow nite we’ll share the other sandwich. We live in Bluffton and will definitely take a ride here every week.

We are part-time Hilton Head residents and have been for many years. My husband and I always make a stop at Gruby’s for lunch within days of coming back to the Island and it has never disappointed. The food is outstanding, the sandwiches are huge, the fries are to die for and the coleslaw and pickles fantastic. The hubby highly recommends the overstuffed sandwiches, they will keep you coming back! All of the employees are so great, I have an invisible disability and have a small service dog, everyone at Gruby’s are so welcoming that I have never felt uncomfortable here, which is amazing. We look forward to many more visits

This is a quaint restaurant with good food. The staff is kind and polite, offering local insight on things to see and do. The coffee and eggs are hot and even though many people are on beach time, they do well to get you in and out to continue with your day.
The breakfast sandwiches are hearty and they do not skimp on the meats. It is a great way to start the day. The lunches are great too.

This is always a must visit when we come to HHI! We ordered a few sandwiches to go, as well as a pound of pastrami and rice pudding; all were ready for pickup at the time specified in the online order. The regular sized sandwiches are large and filling. Though we took out this time, we usually dine in and always have a great experience! If you want authentic sandwiches, deli, and atmosphere of New York, this is the place to be!

stopped in for a late lunch yesterday and I was so happy I did. I had pastrami it was served hot with the requested Swiss which had melted beautifully on soft seeded rye with a nice crunchy crust. I added a knish which was great, hot and chewy with a light crispness. I also had a coke which my friendly server re-filled without my even asking. 23 dollars well spent!

Great sandwiches, great service, and great atmosphere. Friendly staff and the most delicious corned beef, pastrami, and perfect slaw. Bucket list to eat a deli sandwich like the ones in NYC but have no want to go to NYC. Wish I found this place sooner at our 5 day stay and would’ve eaten here more. If we ever come back we’ll definitely eat here again.

Had just had a great Reuben at Bucks Deli in Daniel Island so was excited about the reviews for the Reuben here. Worst Reuben I’ve had. I ordered 15 mins before store was closing so it most likely was rushed and the guy on the phone was a little rude. I decided nope but then was like, these reviews are great so I called back and place my order with a super sweet lady. MY Sandwich was just a huge mouthful of meat and sauerkraut. It was super dry, didn’t look like the pictures at all and for what I paid for it, I was super disappointed. The Fries were GREAT and their homemade ranch dressing but I would have rather they told me they couldn’t make a great reuben that close to closing instead of throwing a cornbeef sandwich together. Majorly disappointed.

A great find on HHI. The sandwiches are huge, meat is cut fresh, and baked goods are fresh. The 1st time here, we got the Arthur Avenue Special, large size not the huge, to take on the golf course for a late afternoon round. It was incredibly delicious, tons of meat, the sweet peppers added a wonderful flavor to the sandwich. We came back the next morning for breakfast. The blueberry pancakes were huge, full of blueberries and great flavor. The staff is very friendly, welcoming as you walk in the door & attentive. We’ll definitely be back the next time on the island.
