Two weeks ago I traveled to Chicago and stopped by Fire on Fifth. An employee named Isabel recommended me the spot and without a doubt it exceeded my expectations. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was very beautiful. I will be returning soon!

Inside the old Westclox building.
So nice to see older industrial buildings used in a new way!!
The service was friendly and helpful
As this was our first time there. They have a wall of “pour your own” beer with about 25 different selections.
We sat in the bar area which was huge, had several seating options with a stage, video gaming area, pool tables and other arcade game options. We had a pizza ( #2 from their selections). Which could have been much more flavorful if they had added a bit more sauce and toppings. The crust was VERY good, crunchy and tasty!!! We ended up taking home a 32 Oz “Crowler” of the Key Lime cider.
I would definitely recommend trying this place!!

Our friends brought us to Fire on Fifth today. It was our first time here (visiting from East Proria). It was located right on the main road. There is an elevator to the left of the stairs once you walk in, so if you need to use that, it’s available. We were seated right away and started off with the Wisconsin cheese curds as an appetizer. They were great, cubed, and crisp! Then we ordered a chicken bacon ranch to share. It was good but could have used a bit more ranch, I didn’t really taste that much on there. It’s a 12-inch pizza and it was enough to feed the both of us.
Loved the decor around the building and the history that was there! It was so cool to see the “old pictures” of what it used to be, from the bricks on the wall and the distillery! I love how there were notes placed around the building that explained or described a little piece of history. For example, the cheese curds were served in a paper boat on a piece of tissue paper that looks like a newspaper clipping from 1971. That was awesome!
I’m not a drinker, but the beer wall was so cool! I’ve never seen anything like that before. How many options they had was just insane and the fact that it’s self- serve and you just pay by the ounce. Very cool feature!
We will be returning!

Mya has been our server the last two times we have come in. She is always friendly and is super nice to our chatty 6 year old. Food is great, drinks are good, and everything is timely.

Took my family to this establishment for the first time today, and I have to say it was very nice. The atmosphere was very interesting given the historic nature of the building itself, being the former home of Westclox watch manufacturing. They have blended in a very nice wood fire pizza place alongside a brewery, turning out great whiskey. We enjoyed a couple of great appetizers. The two were the large Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and homemade mustard, which was excellent. The second is the garlic parm pizza dough bites with a sweet and zesty marinara for dipping. Our family main course was the BBQ chicken pizza and the classic old world pizza. Both pizzas were on point with little flop in the crust. Great texture and topping for these two pizzas. I would highly recommend this place for anyone! The prices are very good for what you get, especially for a family of four. So please visit and enjoy the food and atmosphere alongside the long history of this building.

Fire on Fifth is fun, different from any usual restaurant and has a rustic industrial vibe. They have a variety of pizzas, appetizers, sandwiches and drinks on their menu. They have a brick oven for the pizzas We tried the following
Mediterranean pizza (8/10)
Beer battered Cheese curds (7/10)

There was enough seating on a Thursday evening. The place also had slots, pool tables and few arcade games. There’s a stage for parties and one thing that also caught my eye is the elevator the handicapped. Overall a good experience. Will visit again.

First timer, and they did not disappoint! Started with Grandma’s Meatballs, absolutely what I needed in this cold weather. The Chicken Parm with side salad and house dressing was the main course. Everything about this dish was perfect! The bread was not hard, not too much vodka sauce, chicken was tender.
To finish, the Chai Martini and Grinchmas were a sweet holiday treat. Our server was great, too. Very friendly!

I come from the Illinois Valley, and because of this – I love food. Great amazing food. My brother and I decided to veer from the regular, historic food hotspots. I had never heard of Fire on Fifth, but was intrigued it was nestled in the old Westclox factory that almost burned to the ground some 9 years ago. Let me stress, ALMOST. I figured if something like a restaurant existed inside we would be getting more than just food.

First off, the ambience of this place is unlike anything I have walked into. It’s open and airy. This place had great music playing but not so loud you couldn’t talk to those near you. Our waitress, Mya is the type of server you dream of. She was very attentive, spot on with little details in our order and worked incredibly hard. You could tell she had tons o’ personality but kept her focus on getting food out while it was piping hot for all tables, not just ours.

Secondly, order the Taco Pizza. The crust itself was a bit thin in the middle, but the flavors and this place’s approach to a taco pizza won me over. It had a refried bean base which really adds way more flavor to the game of your taco pizza. Although they didnt put as much cheese on as I had hoped, I embraced this was “their” take on a traditional pie in the Valley. No big deal.

I would rate this taco pizza as the best Ive had in this area in the past twenty years. And yes, it gives Lou’s LaGrotto a run for its money. I prefer Fire of Fifths, but I am hardly dogging Lou’s. To each their own.

My brother ordered the “Bread Line” to stave off hunger pangs until the food arrived. This little entree was great and simply. Bread. Oil. Parmesan+Pepper. Some dipping. Forget about it. You will love it.

I was a big fan of Carter who I never met, the young many who made our gem of a pizza. Mya made this trip special and was one heckuva server! I personally have to give a nod to Andrew the bar keep who intrigued me to try the Key Lime Pie cider beer. He even came with a few other samplers that make me want to return about 43 more times. This restaurant is the real deal and is a great place to impress anyone at.

Get the cheese curds! They were absolutely divine. I loved the crunch created by the sharp corners, paired with the smooth melted interior.
Pizza was also good, but was a bit “juicy” for our liking. There was just slightly too much sauce, and a lot of cheese which made it kind of block out a few other flavors. I can definitely see how this might appeal to some, but I thought the creativity of the different pizzas deserved to be enjoyed by letting each ingredient shine.
The vibe here is really cool, the building had a lot of history. I was impressed by the bartender’s knowledge of it as well.
There is a wall full of craft beers that you can self-pour with a crd that tracks how many ounces (you pay by ounce). That was kind of unique. There were some games in one corner, and they had a couple large private areas on each side for weddings or gatherings. Definitely worth stopping in and checking out!

I recently threw a surprise birthday party for my mother-in-law from out of state. Hannah made the process so smooth, extremely accommodating and beautiful designed a welcome sign for the party. We had an abundance of space, was able to bring in a musician and the team was on top of it when it came to service and even boxed up any left over food. I would recommend them for any of your partying needs. Thanks so much Fire on Fifth!!
