Sort of a dive bar, sort of a neighborhood spot — how does one distinguish? That may be up to you.

But Jackie Lee’s is one of my go-tos — partially because I live within walking distance. But worth the travel from anywhere!

What it does well: environment / vibe, attentive and friendly service (Amanda is the stand out), great cocktail list and solid beer choices, and smoked wings that are a must.

It has all the accouterments you might expect from a dive bar (e.g., projector screen with random movies, vending machine with wacky stuff, a bell that is occasionally rung for reasons I can’t always remember), but it’s not a dive bar, really … in a ‘cool neighborhood moms might hang together here on a night away from the kids and spouse’ type of way.

Thank you, Jackie Lee’s.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years now, and I love the drink selection, the amazing food, and the sick atmosphere. Kind and cool people who work behind the bar/kitchen. Everything about this place’s ambiance and vibe I love — the rabbit light on the wall, the movies playing on the projector 24/7, the nintendo 64, the vending machine of the essentials, and the bathrooms. I tell all my friends how I think it is the best bar in DC hands-down. The food selection really does it for me and makes it so great. Not only is it open late, has reasonable/cheap pricing on everything, good music always, but the food selection fits my perfect mold. Never change Jackie Lees!

This was a fun dive bar. Great drink specials, awesome staff and fun vibes. Theres outdoor seating and plenty of seating inside for small groups. My friends and I stopped by for their dice roll combo. Its around $11 for a shot and beer. Cant find a better deal in the city. We also had their wings, ribs, fries and hush puppies. The house made mumbo and hush puppy sauce were delicious. We had a great time here. Theres plenty of street parking in the front and neighborhood parking a block away

Fun neighborhood bar for trivia and just catching up with friends. Or shenanigans. The chicken tenders with fries are incredible. The dice roll combo is always a fun surprise. Definitely a way to elevate the night. Staff are chill. Feel a bit like a regular when I go. Check their Instagram and or site for details about trivia.

The BEST bar in DC. We stumbled onto Jackie Lees when we moved to the neighborhood and I can’t believe I ever lived without it.

The food is great – BBQ and “vegan junk food” vibes, and the drink selection is top. Bartenders / owners / friends – you cannot beat them.

It’s the type of place I would go to alone just to hang out, or bring out of town friends to. Somehow, it also manages to be “parent friendly” where my boomer parents feel right at home, too.

Lots of familiar faces every time we go – so I know I’m not alone in my opinions.

Be nice. Tip well. Come back often.

Cute. Neighborhood bar. There for a book event. People raved about the brisket sandwich. And try the BBQ seasoned fries.

Jackie Lee’s is the kind of neighborhood bar you wish every neighborhood had. Super chill, unpretentious, and full of good energy. The drinks are solid (and fairly priced!), the bartenders are always friendly, and the vibe strikes that perfect balance between divey and welcoming.

They’ve also got a second floor that’s perfect for hosting a private party, live DJ, or special event—it’s a hidden gem if you’re planning something fun with friends. Whether you’re stopping by for a low-key drink or looking for a cool space to celebrate, Jackie Lee’s always feels like a good idea.
