From the prices posted on the board, expensive, I figured the cheesesteaks were good! Nope… stay clear, and let me tell you why.
The person in charge talks so fast and is so rude. He was the one taking my order, and overcharged me for extra mushrooms when I ordered the mushrooms cheesesteak. I did not order extra mushrooms, and neither there were any extra. The price for a mushrooms cheesesteak is $16.05, instead, he charged $16.65 plus the extra charge for mushrooms. When I saw the receipt and wanted to ask for a refund, he disappeared in the back, and the cook didn’t speak English.
Let’s talk about the sandwich. It had no flavor whatsoever. Even the onions had no onion flavor. All you tasted was grease that made me so nauseous I felt like throwing up for hours after eating that sandwich. The cheese was just an afterthought. Just a little bit, at the bottom of all that greasiness.
After all is said and done, we wasted over $40 for 2 nasty sandwiches and 1 soda.

It exists in the airport, so that’s a win. Pretty legit, but not the best. I was happy to have it. The folks who served it were kind. Perfect fresh second breakfast , and cold elevensies on the plane. You might even get lucky and find a weary traveller nursing a food coma between meat sweats in front of the window. I would go again

I recently had the pleasure of trying Jim’s South Street famous cheesesteaks at the Philadelphia International Airport, and it was an excellent experience. The steak and peppers sandwich was a standout. The steak was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, paired with fresh, flavorful peppers that added a delightful crunch. The sandwich was served on a soft, yet sturdy roll that held everything together nicely without getting soggy. The combination of quality ingredients and expert preparation made this a memorable meal. For anyone passing through the airport and looking for an authentic taste of Philadelphia, Jim’s South Street is a must-visit.

Easily the worst cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Zero flavor, barely any cheese, and the bread was completely soaked through with grease.
The employees don’t listen and don’t seem to care what you order, they just whip up whatever they feel like.
PHL is already one of the worst-rated airports in the country so it might make sense that they put their worst cheesesteak restaurant in it. Stay away.

Listen to the reviews. Lowest quality meat and Wiz you can buy. The 3% wage and benefits fee was the icing. Wawa makes a far better cheesesteak than here.

Jim’s usually makes a great cheesesteak. This airport location, however, really under-seasons the meat, so it was surprisingly bland. It’s a shame, because the steak was good quality, as was the provolone cheese and the roll. The onions didn’t even do anything to punch up the flavor. And, like most airport restaurants, you definitely pay for the location.

I have a 4 hour layover at the PHL airport. Since I’m in Philadelphia, I should try the famous Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, right?! I looked at the airport map and found Jim’s South Street in Terminal C. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich, the server asked if I wanted peppers and mushrooms? I was under the impression it was included but it turned out it is $1.69 for each additional topping. The whole sandwich costs $17.25 after taxes. The sandwich was made fresh to order and you can see the server cooked in front of you. The sandwich was hot and fresh when it was handed to me. I took the first bite and noticed there was no taste to the beef, but I could taste the sweetness of the peppers. I ate the whole sandwich but was very underwhelmed and didn’t feel it was worth $17.25.

I would give this zero stars if I could. This was atrocious. I spent over $22 on a cheese steak and fries, and the cheese steak was just a pile of tough, overcooked, unseasoned, cheap beef on absolutely flavorless provolone. The strongest flavor was the bread, which was actually good bread. It should have been a red flag when I saw people going back up and asking for salt and ketchup to put on their sandwiches. It didn’t even come with peppers, you had to pay extra if you wanted that. I was excited to get a cheese steak on my layover in Philly and I read that apparently Jim’s is supposed to be one of the best local places. I always expect airport food to be worse than the actual restaurant, but if this was even a quarter of the quality that you get outside of the airport, the entire city of Philadelphia should be embarrassed. I’ve rarely felt so ripped off. I ended up throwing half of it away. I never thought somewhere would make me say I wish I went to Subway or Sbarro but that was my first thought when I took a bite. I would have tried to get a refund if I thought there was any chance if that happening. I cannot advise strongly enough to avoid this if you’re coming through this airport, or hell I would avoid Philadelphia altogether based on this experience.

It’s a good cheesesteak with quality meat but a bit underseasoned. They do chop up the meat really fine and use good bread. Would not make a special trip here but good if you’re in the area.

Greasy, unseasoned throughout. For the horrific airport prices I expected some salt, at least. I’m from the west coast and we have better cheesesteaks than this place. Avoid at all costs.
