We live local and had passed by several times and kind of dismissed it as perhaps a “bar”. My husband and I after seeing a review by Hometown Eats stopped in for lunch.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars. We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival and promptly waited on. Staff was cheerful and down to earth making it feel like you were visiting family. As first time patrons they made some helpful suggestions and answered our questions.
Plate presentation was perfect, cost and portions were comparable if not a tad cheaper than other sit down establishments. Food was delicious, I got the philly and my husband a burger.
From start to finish this place impressed. It’s presence gives diner feel and like a step back in time with handwritten checks and I didn’t take that as a bad thing because it was clean and very inviting. We will be back for sure!

Got the hotdogs and the chili is so good! Definitely the best I’ve had around the Roanoke area! Nothing like homemade chili for a good grilled dog.

I had to have some of Jenny’s chicken salad today! I had it on toasted white bread with lettuce and tomato. My side was an upgrade from chips to crinkle cut french fries. This was the one thing that made me happy during the rainstorm earlier.
Her chicken salad may be my favorite thing on their menu. However, the jury is out, as I try more new menu items each time I go. I will keep y’all posted

Don is a good man who runs a great restaurant. Everything on the menu is great, service is fantastic. There’s not really anything you can order that you won’t enjoy. We haven’t been in a months as I was in between jobs but we plan to go this Friday on payday. Keep up the good work.
