Prices go up, portions go down — Daren Restaurant’s prices have risen by about 13% within a year.
I picked up some late-night takeout and would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the staff for their diligent effort in carefully conserving the serving portions. Of course, I’m sure the employee was simply following the company’s standard serving policy.
It was quite an experience — I hadn’t realized I’d be revisiting the kids’ menu portion sizes today.

I would like to share feedback regarding a recent order. The Kung Pao Chicken entrée I received had a noticeably smaller portion than what is typically served.

The amount of chicken was very limited and did not seem to match a standard entrée portion. I’ve ordered this item many times before, so the difference was quite noticeable.

Panda Express is consistently clean with scrumptious food that is made fresh in small quantities. Fresh batches are constantly being made so the food is never left sitting for long. I love the walnut shrimp with fried rice and veggie eggrolls. My son always gets the delicious orange chicken. The prices are quite low. And I usually have leftovers that are great the next day.

I loved getting full delicious portions. I came to support Beckman HS tonight and even though it was very crowded the store lobby was still clean and neat and the staff was friendly and efficient. I was helped by Anna she was very enthusiastic and friendly

I used to enjoy Panda Express, but it’s been getting worse lately. The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk over the past year — now you barely get half of what you used to, especially with the entrees. Even the rice and noodles seem lighter than before.

What really frustrates me is that prices keep going up at the same time. Between smaller portions and new surcharges like the “employee benefits” fee, it feels like a hidden price hike. Paying more for less food just isn’t right.

I hope Panda Express pays attention to these complaints from regular customers. It used to be a decent value, but with these changes, it’s hard to justify coming back.

I’ve visited this Panda Express more times than I can count. It’s located inside the Tustin Plaza, with plenty of parking available. The staff is friendly, and there’s a good amount of seating inside, plus outdoor seating in the plaza if you prefer. Their limited-time entrees are usually great—especially the sizzling shrimp, which is a standout. The beef with broccoli and Angus beef are also solid choices. The portions are generous for the price, making it a filling meal. However, I’ve noticed recently that some of the items have become a bit too salty.

It’s not gourmet, but if you’re in the mood for Americanized Chinese food, it’s a convenient and reliable choice for quick, filling meals.

It’s cafeteria American-Chinese food but just what you need sometimes. There’s good foot traffic so the food is pretty fresh. Often had confusion with the staff if English is a problem for them but I’m learning the drill and keep a close eye on the progress as they hand over the order along the line.

So 2 things really bothered me about this place during my last visit enough that I’d be compelled to write a review about it. Firstly, I was in line and got to the front and some old man and his wife blatantly butted in front of me. The staff saw it and did nothing to enforce the line up and just served him. I realize I should say something myself but the staff should not have served him. Ridiculous.
Secondly, I got a 2-item combo and the serving size was tiny and was pretty much all celery, barely any chicken. Small serving of rice as well. For $9 this was a rip off and I was left hungry. I live across the street so I’ve been here enough times to realize that they consistently skimp out on the servings compared to other locations. At least fill up the rice/noodles! Despite the convenience I’ll never go back here again and will gladly drive to the nearest other Panda Express if I’m ever in the mood for some. However, you’re better off going to a local mom and pop Chinese take out place as the serving sizes will be much more fair for the price.

The girl who helped me was so nice and the place was clean! But as I was eating my food I noticed it tasted funny so I broke my “chicken” apart and it was ALL undercooked dough. I could taste the raw flour in my mouth.
