First time dining at this restaurant. We had eggplant basil stir fry, pad see ew, red curry and tom yup noodle soup. They were all great, very flavorful, and generous portion sizes. Tara was very welcoming and friendly. It was a very pleasant dining experience. We would definitely come back.

Want some delicious Thai food that will make you feel full and satisfied? This is the place to go. All authentic Thai dishes. The portions are huge and well worth the price. Every dish has a bursting flavor. The spicy pad thai and the curry are one of my favorites. The staff was really nice and they were on top of making sure I had everything I needed. The place is located in a nice area also. You have to try the fried dipped in their sweet and sour sauce. The sticky rice and mango is one of my favorite desserts and they made it perfect. So yummy. If you dont believe me, go try it out yourself. You will not be disappointed. Keep up the great work Thai Chaiyo.

Friday night dinner cravings brought us into Thai Chaiyo, parking was easy to find, and there was not a wait at 6 pm. Tables filled up quickly as soon as we sat down. Small and humble space with sticky menus a and a waiter that didn’t seem to know when or how to cut in to take our order, drink refills, or basic check-ins. Service and atmosphere were left lukewarm, just like my water.

Coconut Shrimp ($10.50) – Avoid at all costs. The star for specialty means nothing. As soon as the appetizer was placed, I thought, “Wow, generous serving.” Only to be left underwhelmed. All you taste is coconut, the small side of sweet and sour sauce for dipping does nothing to accompany the screaming coconut flakes. Shrimp, where? All batter. Not to mention the color of the fry on this.

Pad See Ew ($13.95) – With chicken. Delicious. Really good, tasted like every other pad See ew I’ve ever had which is great.

Yellow Curry ($13.50) – With Beef, please don’t order beef. It was chewy and hard, pieces were oblong and non consistent. Curry tasted good though.

Overall, it was an underwhelming dining experience, had a Thai craving and this place but a bandaid over it, but I won’t be coming back.

I got the pad see ew (tofu). Pretty bland. I had to add my own soy sauce & siratcha. The “signature” sticky mango rice was TERRIBLE. Overall, this place is overpriced & low quality.

Good service, great atmosphere, BEST thai I ever had, hands down. Small shop, very warm and welcoming here. Really good unique beers. Fair prices. My only complaint is I asked for extra meat and didn’t look like I got it. Everything else still makes it 5 stars. You will not regret coming, BEST Thai in OC.

Thai Chaiyo is AMAZING!!! Love the customer service and especially the food. I’ve had the chicken Pad Thai and the Thai style fried rice and both entrees were delicious! Nina is the sweetest. This restaurant is a 10/10 for sure, and you will not regret eating here!

We ordered the Stir-Fried Basil and Chili Tofu and the Bangkok Basil Fried Rice. The tofu looked great and tasted very flavorful. The sauce had authentic Thai flavors. The Thai iced tea was the best I have ever had.
