Ala carte meals. Comparable prices with other burger places. Food was hot and edible. I saw 2 servers/hostess/waitress. I made eye contact with one but there were some tables with 4 people that arrived just before me. The 2nd one brought me a menu and recommended a few of her faves. She was very friendly and polite. She checked on me often along with a couple other tables. I appreciate the friendliness and hospitality. I tipped her in my appreciation. Its not often I find friendly staff in the current economy. The restroom could use some updates and extra cleaning. The women’s had 1 door and 2 toilets next to each other with a partition (no doors) you walk in and both of them are set up like what I would imagine men’s urinals are like. The PB & J burger is decent but definitely messy.

Tried Dirty Bird as recommended by friends and family and were not disappointed! The price was absolutely reasonable, and I enjoyed that the toppings could be chosen at no extra charge. The food was delicious and arrived to us quickly, hot, and fresh. The bird chips are outstanding, especially paired with the house dip. The chicken was crispy while the buns were not at all soggy. Portion sizes matched what we paid, and we all went home with leftovers. I only give 4 stars because of service and atmosphere; our waiter came over once after we go our food, and it was only to give us the bill. And, we were swatting flies the entire time, which was strange considering we sat at a table in the back and away from the door. However, I would come here again, especially as it was quick service during peak dinner hours.

The tenderloin had good seasoning, had a good thickness and a good cut of meat. The French fries where almost shoestring thing and where really good.

Visiting Carthage IL and saw that the Dirty Bird had great ratings. Well deserved. I had the Dirty Bird Special burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. So good. Service and atmosphere was excellent.

Saw this place on the Pursuing Pork Tenderloin page and knew we had to stop when we were in the area. The tenderloin was good, but the jalapeno poppers were fantastic! Definitely recommend trying them.

If you’re out on Hwy 336 just east of Carthage Illinois you should stop by the Dirty Bird Bar and Grill. The owner, a local, was very polite and friendly. We ordered the dirty bird specialty burger. It had a really good garlic Parmesan sauce, over an onion ring topped Burger. The patty was a nice juice beef burger. The homemade chips were tasty and crisp, combined with the dirty bird dip were outstanding. You should give it a try we did and we didn’t regret it.

Had the tenderloin and sweet potato fries, she had the dirtybird specialty burger, and the loaded chips. Awesome food! Only serve bottle or can beer, about $9-$14 a plate. We spent more cause of beer. Service was fast, laid-back and friendly. Definitely recommend a visit, worth the 35+ min ride!

Fantastic food! The homemade chips are amazing and not greasy. The servers work their butts off but the service is slower than normal. But if you ask any of the people running around they get whatever you need asap. Definitely don’t miss this spot for any meal of the day!

Great grilled tenderloin.
Also, great big Mac burger.
Love the pickles served with sandwiches too. 12-24-2023 had lunch there again, it was still great sandwiches. Mozzarella sticks are really good.

Just passing through town and wanted to eat local, found this place on the map. I ordered the PB&J burger with sweet potato fries and was NOT disappointed! So good that I had to order the other burger I was interested in as a to go order, the sweet and spicy burger and was just as amazed! The waitress was very nice and very attentive! Hate that I didn’t stay the night in town to try their breakfast. I’ll be bookmarking for places to visit again!!
