It’s one thing for a place to evolve, but it’s another to completely lose the vibe that made it special in the first place. When you’re paying more and getting less, it’s hard not to feel like the place has lost touch with what people actually want.
The fact that multiple people have asked for a music change and it’s still stuck on something no one’s feeling just adds insult to injury. Music sets the tone, and if they can’t even get that right—especially after raising prices—it shows a real disconnect.
You’re not wrong to feel let down, especially if this was a place you and your friends used to look forward to. Maybe they’re under new management, or just trying to attract a different crowd, but they clearly aren’t reading the room.
It sucks, but sometimes the hardest part is realizing a place just isn’t your place anymore. And that’s okay. You and your crew deserve better vibes than what they’re giving right now.
The only good part of the night was our server. They were friendly, attentive, and honestly the only part of the experience that made us feel welcome. If the management could match that energy and actually listen to the crowd, maybe this place could bounce back. But for now, it’s just not it.

No contest between this place and the old High Tide;Captain’s Grille wins hands down! Better service, better food, and WAY better atmosphere! It’s so nice to be able to take our family and friends for a nice dinner after a day on the lake. No more feeling like I’m in line for a club in Westport. We’ll definitely be back!

Extremely poor service. We came in after a day on the lake hungry, thirsty, and excited to try out the new spot. After being told to seat our selves we waited for over 40 minutes watching waitresses walk by us serve people who had come in after us and we tried to get the attention of servers many times to no avail. Pretty disappointing considering it is tied to vikings and i love vikings.

Been twice each time out of rum runners first time we went they just opened with limited menu ran out of alcohol drinks food was soso figured we would give them another try this time out of rum tunners pulled pork bacon tarter sauce and my wife ordered a club sandwich was 13 bucks for two thin slices of the cheapest lunch meat possible. Only good thing was the waitress and that they discounted our bill some for the inconvenience.

We eat at Captains Grille at least once a week, after being out on the lake. We always request, Kiara Simmons, as our waitress, as she’s always very friendly, has done an amazing job, and made us feel welcome every time we’ve been there. We will be back.

Alright, lets get started. First thing we noticed is they were playing great music out front… however, when we got out to the area above the pool, you could barely hear any music. That makes no sense to me. Why have the music loud out in front of the place, but not inside?? Also, one of the outside TV’s was just playing the SAMSUNG screensaver instead of having the game on…any game, any show, anything but a screen saver. With that being said, we ordered our food at 646pm and it arrived 11 minutes later… that is VERY good. However, they got one of our orders wrong, but, no big deal, i just ate it. The cost for our 2 drinks, our two sandwiches with bacon and fries was just under $45.00 not including the tip. The burger was good, definitely hand made, the bacon was crisp, the lettuce and tomato were soggy and limp, but still ok….the fries looked look basic frozen crinkle fires, but they were ok. The waitress was very nice. Heres one thing that bugged me a bit, i ran a bar for over a decade, i have a portable breathalyzer in my car, after having a rum runner i decided to check my BAC and my BAC was 0.00 and so was my wifes. So, i assume the alcohol content in the drinks was nothing or near nothing. The place was pretty dead for a Friday night at 7pm so the atmosphere was kinda dead. All in all it was ok. I would have given 5 stars if they had gotten the order was right, the lettuce and tomato werent soggy and limp and you could hear the music. So, 3 stars it is…. actually 3.5 stars, but Google wont let you do 3.5 stars.

The food didn’t match the description on the menu, such as the nachos barely had toppings and most the chips were itty bitty and broken. The big change to $20 a person for the pool was outrageous. I can understand maybe doubling it to $10 but $20 was steep for a few hours in a basic pool despite what the staff kept saying about keeping debauchery down and the wrong people away. It was keeping everyone away. Missing all the frozen drinks they had before.
