Must of passed this place for ages and finally found my way here. A little hidden gem in old North Port. Overall pleased with the service from the owner’s son. Live music and had the stuffed artichoke and La Rocco special. Pasta e Fagioli soup was good as well. Finished with the homemade Tirami-Su. Just a heads up it did have an alcohol kick, an authentic version, which was delicious. I can say it was nothing like these reviews stated as the meal was normal and not small by any means. Overall our group was satisfied with our meal and service. To the owner’s son, I wish you all the best with your journey of becoming a mechanical engineer!

If there was a way to give zero stars I would! I should listened to the other reviews about this place but we gave it a try anyway. The salad was the smallest salad I have ever seen. The lasagna was runny and watery and still frozen inside. We politely told them about it and the owner/chef came out from the back and started yelling and cussing at us. We still kept asking for our check so we could pay and leave and he just kept screaming at us in front of everyone. His wife apologized for him and kept telling him to go to the back but he kept coming back out screaming at us. I’ve never been treated like this at a restaurant before. I am shocked they are still in business. Especially since this has happened to other people before. I should’ve known when we walked in and there were maybe 3 people in there eating. Owner says we were trying to get out of paying for our meal, but he told us to leave and didn’t “want” our money. We stayed around and waited after we were cussed at and told the waitress to bring our check because we weren’t leaving without paying for the food we ate! And yes, my HUSBAND had rated a few bites of his food until he got to the middle of the lasagna and it was frozen! Even the hostess touched it with her finger and agreed that that was not ok! I feel bad for her because the owners screamed at her and embarrassed her in front of the whole restaurant because she touched the food. As far as people from other tables making a comment about us wanting a free meal, that is a complete lie because there was only about 3 people there that night and they were on the other side of the restaurant! No wonder they were empty! I should’ve known when we walked in and there was no one there at dinner time. This guy needs major anger management.

We discovered LaRocca in 2020 during the pandemic and fell in love with their fresh delicious authentic italian food. This is a family run business and we love everything about it. We always start with a stuffed avocado which is AMAZING. My hubby loves Shrimp FraDiavlo and chef prepares it perfectly every time. My favorite is the Lobster Ravioli but every single thing we have had had been delicious. I usually get a Tiramisu to go since I’m normally stuffed and I enjoy it with a cup of coffee the next day. Very nice people and they always take the time to stop and chat.

LaRocca never disappoints! I have been visiting this wonderful, local restaurant for more than a decade. Why do I return? Delicious, made-from-scratch authentic Italian fare, coupled with owners who care very deeply their customers are pleased with their meals and their experience. Long ago, on our second visit, one of the owners recognized my husband and me. She treated us like we were returning family. So we returned, again and again. Nothing on the menu is frozen, all is made as you order and is as fresh as I’ve ever eaten. Their thin-crust pizza is amazing as is the carpaccio, seafood, lasagna and all other pasta dishes. The owners’ dedication to their establishment is evident in every bite!

I had the calamari salad. It was swimming in very vinegary vinaigrette which overtook all flavours. It was more like a marinated salad. Very little calamari which was tender but indistinguishable from the vegetables in flavour. The staff was sharp when asked for some bread, she said she would bring 2 pieces. So I didn’t dare ask for any. We just had apps.

Such a wonderful restaurant! It’s dish! Everything is made fresh with the freshest ingredients, and cooked to order.
The staff is family owned and are delightful! You feel so special coming here and like you are important! We did not need reservations but called first to make sure out of respect. Pictured is a fancy espresso martini that was the best I’ve had.

To be honest, it wasn’t what I expected. That being said the food was very good. I did get sticker shocked by the menu prices. The location and the decor / atmosphere doesn’t seem to warrant the$$. However the food was very good. We had eggplant parmesan and linguine puntanesca (?). You will also need not be in a hurry.

The food was phenomenal. A quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Small and cute restaurant with much better quality food than you’d find at any chain Italian restaurant.
