My wife and I just spent the weekend in the Gardener’s Cottage at Selby 100 Mile House & Gardens. From the moment we arrived, we were treated as though we were the only guests on site. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable. Every meal was delicious and well presented. The cocktails were great as is their selection of bourbon. The alfresco dining loggia overlooking the Ohio River is the perfect setting for dinner. If you find yourself in need of a quick but close getaway that offers quality service rivaled by few, then dinner, brunch, or a stay at Selby is a fantastic choice. Thanks to Mike, Tim, Eric, and Karen for making our anniversary so enjoyable and memorable!

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. We spent a night at the Gardener’s Cottage and enjoyed a dinner with wine pairing and breakfast. In speaking to my boyfriend, we were trying to pick a favorite part. We couldn’t! The food was ALL incredible. I could go on and on about the uniqueness of each dish and we can’t wait to go back! On top of the food, the entire grounds is kept exceptionally clean. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!!!!

Hidden treasures are the Best – – This place is a destination in itself, rivaling some of the best B&Bs in this country. The historic renovated building and Decour is immaculate, the grounds and River Terrace view tranquil, the innkeeper and staff warm and friendly, the food and drinks unrivaled in the area. After a long trip from California, I arrived to what felt like home. I’m not a local, but I feel like one now. I found this place on Google by asking for the best place to stay in Southern Ohio. I couldn’t believe it, but took a chance, and I’ve never been happier that I did. Where is the 6 star button??

We just arrived home from our weekend in Southern Ohio/Northeast Kentucky. When we were planning this weekend trip, I had a very hard time finding any place to stay. Southern Ohio is known for its picturesque location but quality hotels are not easy to come by in the rural parts near the Ohio River. In my search I came across the Selby 100 Mile House & Gardens and I’m so very happy I did.
As you can see in the pictures it is beautiful. Located just 5 hours south of Ann Arbor Michigan, it provides a peaceful, remote and luxurious weekend getaway.
Owners Mike and Tim are on the premises and are happy to offer local suggestions for hiking, food and local history. Karen the chef makes a delicious breakfast and can cater to specific dietary needs (gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.).
The Nurse’s room, where we stayed, was a cozy suite with a very comfortable bed, window AC, WiFi, bottled water, coffee maker, TV and attached bathroom. The colonial decor throughout fits perfectly with the elegant style of the estate.
We had packed a cooler and snacks (highly recommended since most stores and restaurants are located 20 minutes away or farther) and we were able to refill with ice to keep things cool.
Mike makes an excellent Old Fashioned at the bar so definitely try one and head out to sit on any of the patio spaces.
Speaking of the patio spaces, the view…THE VIEW…it’s like something from a storybook! The green and lush foothills just past the Ohio river in the summer is breathtaking! Sunset and sunrise both offer stunning views that I imagine look great in any season.
Tip: The bugs weren’t bad for June, but bring mosquito repellent because you’re on the river so the bugs will probably find you.
Don’t forget to take time to walk the grounds too, the landscaping and variety of flowers, trees and plants…you won’t be disappointed.
All in all we highly recommend Selby 100 Mile House and Gardens and can’t wait to go back!

Today we visited the Selby 100 Mile House and their newest edition – Mirage Champagne Bar. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and the goodies we got to-go were AMAZING! We tried several delicious menu items, including the onion dip and ham & cheese quiche. For dessert, the cinnamon rolls and coconut cream cake were absolutely divine. They even had homemade dog treats available which our dog loved! The staff was excellent and accommodating, and while we did not get to see the dining area at this time, the kitchen was beautiful and clean. Wonderful experience and I can’t wait to come back soon for a mimosa with a view ❤️

Everything about the Shelby 100 Mile House and Garden’s experience was amazing! From the moment we arrived on the grounds it looked like something out of a fairytale. Beautiful inside and out! Every room was a visual masterpiece. I was in awe of The Shelby House, so much more than I had expected. Perfectly cleaned, every detail from decor, lighting, music, added to the ambience of the home. The staff took such good care of us, they were incredibly kind, friendly, and so accommodating. We stayed in the larger room on the top floor and it was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful balcony/sitting area before entering the room that you could dine or just enjoy the view of the gardens from. Our space had an enclosed sitting area, kitchen space, bedroom, bathroom, and living room. So, so pretty, the decor of the space was perfectly beautiful. The next morning we started our morning with the most amazing breakfast. A table in the main house was prepared for us with one of the most delicious breakfasts I’ve ever had. Everything we ate was from scratch and perfectly prepared (better than any breakfast I’ve ever had in any restaurant in my entire life). I honestly hated to leave and go back to reality lol. Shelby 100 Mile House is my new absolute favorite getaway.

I attended a wedding at the Selby 100 Mile House over the weekend, and the place is just beautiful. From the setting on the river in the back to the front lawn with the picture-perfect swing, this place is perfect for parties. I hope that someday I can be there on a crisp fall evening to enjoy the huge outdoor kitchen and fireplace. I spoke with the owners and I am so excited that they will soon be opening a b&b that offers brunch. There is no place in Scioto County that does a brunch. Can’t wait.

Mike and Bailey went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic! The setting is peaceful and relaxing. The home and grounds are beautiful.
Began with a tour of the house along with a glass of champagne. Spent the evening by the fire pit with a glass of wine and impromptu chocolate torte, prepared by Mike.
Our room was beautiful and breakfast of broccoli cheddar quiche, homemade pastries and fresh fruit was so good! Already discussing our next visit.

Best decision we ever made to have my daughters wedding at the Selby 100 Mile House! It was immaculate! The accommodations were above and beyond what we expected! The apartment for the girls to get ready was amazing…fridge stocked with water and wine, Sophora case full of ANYTHING a bride and her entourage would ever need! Very spacious and elegantly decorated! The men’s dress area was in the study/library and was beautiful! The grounds were so beautifully landscaped! Mike and Tim and their crew did an amazing job…parking the immediate family’s cars, using their covered oversized cart to transport the elderly around as well as the able bodied, and just helping keep everything on track! There is so much more but very long story short…you can’t go wrong with this venue! Thank you guys so much for helping make that day absolutely perfect and unforgettable!!
