I’m leaving Yelp and moving my reviews over to Google. Ed & Stacy sold to Synergy a little after I wrote this so no longer family owned. This was written as my last review of 2021. I would be willing to bet I’ve been back no less than 100x/year since writing this original review:
Looks like Ed’s gets the last review I write in 2021. That’s fitting as I had what was definitely the best Reuben of the year at their place. I’ve had a bunch of their smoked meats and they are uniformly delicious. Good smoke flavor, nice rub and great bark. That applies to their pulled pork, brisket, pastrami and ribs.
Located in a gas station like all the best places way down south. I’ve eaten here a handful of times when I’m at the lake and have loved everything I’ve tried this far.
Super happy to have this resource (gas, select groceries, fresh pizza, local ice cream, souvenirs too) only 2 miles away.
Family owned and operated. This is a place you need in your life!

Stopped in after hiking part of the Ice Age trail, fast service and great food! Would recommend the Reuben and white Mac and cheese, and I plan to stop here again to try more of their meats

My parents live in town so I used to come here all the time under the previous management. Since it was bought out by Synergy, food quality has gone down. However, my review is primarily about the service. Apparently their kitchen is not open on Mondays in the winter. I understand this being not a very populated area, but not only is it not posted anywhere, it took 5+ minutes of my waiting to order for someone to tell me that. Totally fine that the kitchen isn’t open if you post that on your website, your door, where you place your order, etc. but that wasn’t the case. The menu boards were lit up as normal and there was no indication that I couldn’t order food When it says online you are open and you aren’t, that sucks for people who travel specifically to get dinner there! We used to eat here multiple times a week when owned by Ed. Don’t think we will be back.

Stopped here after trail riding and was so happy we did! One of us had fish, which was yummy and one of us had a mushroom & swiss burger with a side of 5-cheese mac n cheese. Both were great and plenty of food. Plus, the option to dine-in was so appreciated!

In a tourist town in the spring during lent when you serve fish why in earth do you close your kitchen at 7, many out of towers don’t get here until 7, I think you are losing out on a large amount of business on the weekend, definitely lost ours last night

This is no ordinary gas station. Ed’s has great BBQ. Granted, you’ll be seated at a gas station, but it’s very clean. Think Cracker Barrel. Plus, there is abundant parking for trucks with trailers.

SO good and inexpensive as far as BBQ goes. The white mac and cheese and jalapeño poppers were spectacular. I don’t normally stop at the same place twice when I’m passing through, but I’ll definitely make it a point to stop here again!

The employees are the reason I go here. Nothing else. For a quick coffee stop, they eliminated the creamer dispenser so it takes forever to open up each creamer individually. Coffee are now almost $3 for a SMALL
