North Lake Boathouse Eatery: Your Premier Destination for Fresh …
Reviews
Quite a commitment, wouldn’t you say? So after such a wait, we could not leave with bellies empty. As you might have guessed already, another 30 minutes wait to get the food, which were COLD SANDWICHES. The lobster was literally cold. It’s not like they fished out a fresh one and prepared it right after 🙂
No, they were assembling the mayo, bread, and lobster sandwich for 30 minutes.
Point number one: let people know they will have to wait an hour to get a meal.
Point number two: a $30 sandwich should look more appealing than mayo, bread, lobster, and a piece of lettuce.
We drove here around the time of closing for most of the food places.
There was nothing else around to go to instead, because everything else would have been closed by then. So by choosing this eatery, we essentially cut out all the other options, and felt quite safe relying on the nice rating. For this reason only, I am leaving a bad review, so that others will not be trapped in a similar situation. The rating should reflect this place better
Ordered their famous clam chowder soup and the chicken club BLT.
unhappy with the quality. The service was very slow as all tables were taken with one server and only one kitchen chef.
The BLT sandwich had literally one piece of chicken and my soup was very bland compared to other restaurants on the island.
I found a black hair in my soup mid way and the side biscuit was hard as a rock.
For a family shop well known I would not recommend nor return.
I had the eggs benny and my friend had the big breakfast. Both decent meals and the price was right at $16-$17.00 each. The coffee was good and everyone was friendlly.
The space is nice, a cozy room initially but it opens into more seating in the back. There’s a good variety of seating options, including some cozy chairs and a patio.
The space and number of tables is high for the volume of staff. I would say as they fill up, you can anticipate a little longer of a wait and maybe having to ask for things like refills.
It’s a super rural area near the tip of the Island and I think it’s important to keep in mind the availability of people looking for a seasonal serving job in this area. Manage your expectations when visiting a small rural spot, they have a rushes out of the blue just like anyone else.
The walls are covered with fantastic stories of tuna fishing, which is a central part of the local history.
