Reviews
I’d call this standard LA Pizza.
The sauce was good but I didn’t really love the dough.
Their spice mix is interesting.
I believe it started up in 2020.
They have seasonal pies that are so fun.
It’s a vibe and worth checking out.
After not having a great first experience with this pizza, customer service reached out to try and make it right. I’m updating this review not because of that, but because I gave it another shot and this time I had a much better experience.
Instead of getting a slice like in my initial review, I tried a pie so that I knew it would be fresh. I ordered their “Good Boy” and I can definitely say it’s one of the better pizzas I’ve had in LA.
Originally, maybe it was an off day, maybe I ordered at the wrong time, but I’m glad I tried it again because this time I can definitely understand the hype for this pizza.
This is LA. Pretty much all restaurants have the best food and will beat your dining experience in a lot of other cities.
What differentiates from the “food was pretty good” to “I LOVE that place!” is service, which became an ancient word post Covid for some reason.
As someone from NYC, I never thought I’d say this but LaSorted’s IS WHERE YOU NEED TO GO.
The crust, sauce, cheese, everything is spot on. But like I said, it’s not only their pizza that makes them stand out but their service. And I don’t mean service as just general friendliness.
When I ordered a pie last week, there was a hiccup. It was upsetting but what could I do, just move on.
Then the business really went above and beyond to understand my frustration. The owner really understands what customer service means and I trust/support a business that’s run by someone with a big heart.
Stopped by around 8pm the other night and I believe Jeremy was helping me, nice guy and offered good recommendations. I went with the Mortadella focaccia and it was outstanding!
It’s served slightly warmed as the focaccia is toasted which offers a nice contrast in temperature and texture from the filing. The bread is out of this world. I know the flavor but it just can’t come to me as I write this review, but there is so much flavor packed into the bread, I could buy loaves of that alone. It’s crusty on the outside and pillowy on the inside.
The mortadella is piled high with good pieces of pistachio and a slight saltiness. The burrata is creamy and smooth while the pistachio cream offers a nice nuttiness and more rustic flavor to blend everything together. Such simplicity truly makes the best sandwiches.
