The food was excellent, but the service was subpar. Plating and proportions were a little small. Food was delicious, but most of our plates were served more lukewarm than not.
We had reservations for 8:00pm. We were told it would be a minute, so we sat at the bar which was not busy at all. After 10 minutes of waiting, I was finally able to get a bartender’s attention, as no one even glanced our way. We ordered drinks, and continued to wait. After a 45 minute wait from our arrival at 8, we were finally seated. The restaurant was bustling, but not overly busy. There were several empty tables as well.
We ordered wine and drinks, and after 10 minutes were informed that our wine selection was unavailable. We selected a different bottle and were served promptly. 20 minutes into our dining experience, the waitress finally took our orders for an appetizer. We expected her to return shortly for ordering our entrees. 30 minutes later, she finally returned to our table, our glasses long had been empty, with the appetizers. She refilled our drinks, and promptly left. We ate our appetizers which were small, but delicious. At this point, we were almost an hour into our dinner, and 1.5 hours into our experience, and we hadn’t even ordered our dinner. Approximately 15 minutes after our appetizers were finished, our waitress returned to take our dinner orders. At this point, several other parties who had been seated after us, had already finished their meals and were leaving. We ordered dinner, and then waited another thirty minutes for dinner to be served. At this point, there were only a few tables left that were still occupied.
Dinner was finally served and most of the food was lukewarm to cool at best. At this point we were well over two hours into our experience and didn’t have time to wait for re-plating. We finished dinner, ordered dessert to go. The meal was a very pricey meal, and the food, had it been hot, would have well been worth it. But when paired with the complete lack of organization, and dysfunctional atmosphere, this $700 meal was more than exorbitant. By the time we left, we were one of the only diners left.
We had high hopes for this restaurant, but will not be back due to a complete lack of quality service.
Girlfriend had Pan Seared Scottish Salmon and it was very delicious and flavorful.
We ordered the cured bacon flight and dragon roll. Both delicious appetizers. I’ll literally eat anything but I was pretty disappointed with the Hickory Grilled Beef Tenderloin.
The waiter recommended it because it was apparently an excellent dish. The wild mushrooms had the only flavor on the dish. The beef tenderloins lacked taste and flavor. Seemed like the chef put all the salt on the mushrooms.
I’ve eaten at 5 star restaurants for less and the money wouldn’t have been an issue if the main entree wasn’t so disappointing.
Came here with two other couples for the first time last night. Overall, we had a very good experience and an enjoyable meal.
For the most part, I’d give five stars to everything we ate. The duck special was my favorite of the night. The Picasso roll was fresh and delicious. I loved the cafe brûlée dessert. The fries were a pleasantly decadent surprise. I liked the risotto, but probably wouldn’t order it again. The Brussels sprouts were great.
I ordered the Secret Garden cocktail. It was delicious perfection. I probably wouldn’t ever order another cocktail there so long as that was on the menu.
I did find some things about the service odd. It took awhile to get going. The host does not provide the menus. We had to wait for the server who greeted us first and brought drink menus later. Only it was one cocktail and one wine menu for a table of six. This wasn’t enough. We really needed one or two more of each. We were there about thirty minutes before we got out drinks. I wish we had received drunk menus upon sitting down so we could have ordered faster. BUT once we did get our drinks, everything ran super smoothly. I liked we weren’t rushed. Everything was perfectly timed. In some ways, it felt very European as our meal took about 2.5 hours. Our server was very nice and did a great job overall. It really was just the first thirty minutes I found odd. Luckily, we were in great company so it didn’t bother me more than a passing .
The ambience of the restaurant was nice if a little dated. The restaurant as a whole lacked the modern feel I’m used to. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, as the food has certainly kept up, but I think it could use a bit of updating in the decor and atmosphere department.
Overall, it was a great experience and I’d come back if I were feeling like a splurge. Which, on that topic, I will say I feel it should be labeled a $$$ restaurant and not a $$. From price point to atmosphere, it did not feel like most $$ restaurants I frequent.
Although there wasn’t much on the menu to choose from I ordered the char broiled oysters and received them at 7:09pm. I was a bit disappointed with the amount that was on my plate for the price of $15. I was expecting a good amount for that price.
Next, it was time to order the entree. So I ordered the pan seared Scottish salmon. After waiting for over an hour I finally received my meal. It looked great. However not everyone in my party received their food the same time as me. As I was observing there were a few messed up hamburgers that couldn’t seem to get right until the 3rd attempt. Most if not everyone’s food was lukewarm if not cold. Absolutely NOBODY’S food was hot. When I finally got to taste my salmon it was seasoned pretty good.
As a host for my dinner party I was VERY disappointed in the level of customer service we received from the manager Robert. It seemed like everything was going great until food got to the kitchen. I noticed over parties who came in after us was not only served but received their food waaay before we received ours.
After several failed attempts from other people’s order in my party we asked to speak to the manager. He did not seem empathetic about our concerns and our complaints what soever. By this time more time has gone by and no one in my group was able to enjoy their food and let alone not eat cohesively. We expressed our concerned to the manager Robert and instead of apologizing for the errors made in the kitchen he simply says he believes it wasn’t a total fail. What kind of manager says that?? At this point as a customer the service quality was getting worse. So then the manager says he will give everyone at our table a discount. At first we was fine with that BUT then we were waiting a long time to get our tickets. Once we got our tickets the orders were all jacked up. Some had someone else’s drink on their ticket and we were told someone at our table drinks but they didn’t know who so decided to add it on wherever. This was a total disaster and instead of the manager reasoning and owning up the the errors he tells us it wasn’t complete fail. I felt he did not care about my group about us as valuable customers.
After continuous going back and forth with the manager he fiercely suggested everyone’s tab would be covered and all he asked was that we pay gratuities to the servers. I was totally disappointed in the poor service and lack of hospitality we received given it’s reputation.
In my opinion I would come here unless you want to waste money on not so good food and customer service. I’ve received faster and better service at Chills than I did here.
As a paying customer I EXPECT EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE to go along with the over priced food!
DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE TIME AND MONEY TO WASTE!
DO NOT COME HERE IS YOU HAVE MORE THAN A GROUP OF 5. APPARENTLY THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET EVERYONE’S MEALS OUT ON TIME HOT FRESH OFF THE GRILL SO EVERYONE CAN EAT AND ENJOY THEIR MEALS AT THE SAME TIME.
POOR MANAGEMENT ON ROBERTS END.
