This place was so good. We went back two mornings in a row. Our server Kyler was absolutely amazing and made such a great dining experience for our group both times.

The bakery is just the greatest and we should have just done pastries alone but all four of us left absolutely stuffed because we wanted to have an entree as well as pastries.

If I didnt have self control I’d eat every pastry in this place. The other breakfast choices are really delicious too. The staff are friendly- the joyful people you need while you’re starying off your day. Of course there’s the cool las vegas downtown vibe that we all know and love

Today my girlfriends and I had the best experience. Immediately after entering we notice the great vibe and atmosphere, the clean lines just make this place inviting. Our server Kendi was gracious and helpful, after asking her twice about the specials she explained them all. Our food was excellent and I recommend the kale salad with the Chardonnay, the chef was welcoming as his recommendations were excellent. We order coffee and desserts to top off our afternoon and enjoyed the great vibe. If your in the art district, make sure you partake of this outstanding experience.

The best part of my visit in Vegas, our server Kyler was absolutely amazing he was very attentive and made our visit amazing. The food and service in my opinion was better than Hell’s Kitchen. Definitely coming back on my next visit to Vegas.

Tucked into the vibrant Arts District at 1228 S. Main Street, 1228 Main delivers a brunch experience that feels both elevated and relaxed, perfect for weekend mornings with friends, a casual date, or a celebratory meal. The fried chicken sandwich on fecha bread is a refined take on a classic favorite crisp, juicy chicken. It’s not a heavy, greasy diner style; it’s more bistro-chic, perfect for brunch or lunch if you enjoy comfort food with a culinary twist.

Hubby brought me here on a surprise impromptu date night, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I was very pleased with my meal at 1228 Main. There are some issues, but this restaurant does a lot really well.

The menu is very limited, and there are little to no vegetarian / vegan options. This really shocked me, especially for a restaurant in the Arts District. I’m unsure if the chef would be willing to accommodate, but it seemed like the type of place that you’d be told “no” if you wanted to modify something to be meatless. Minus a star for limited veggie options.

Another thing I didn’t like was the overall atmosphere. It’s a working bakery and kitchen, which means there was a never-ending clatter from the kitchen as well as the distracting smell of bread baking. Both kitchens were also producing a lot of heat, and the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. I was not cool and relaxed, and they are in desperate need of better air conditioning. I cannot imaging how horrid the summer months must get, and I will be sure to avoid dining here during that time.

I also found the service to be lacking. It wasn’t unprofessional, but I would call it inattentive. For a nicer, chef-driven restaurant, I expect far, far better service. My water glass shouldn’t be empty, and I would appreciate a server at least checking in on my within 5 minutes after my meal is served. Our waiter dropped our food and never returned, leading to us having to repeatedly try to flag down anyone to bring us water since we were desperate for a drink!

Now on to the good! The food was so fresh and tasty. While the menu didn’t offer detailed enough descriptions, I was happy with what I ordered. We shared a shrimp appetizer that was beautifully fried and presented, and the portion was large (actually, I’d say it was too large) for two people. I’d only order this again if we had one or more friends with us. The shrimp quality was exceptional, and the flavors were on point.

Next up was the bread service with butter. Get this. It features whatever fresh breads they’ve made recently, and it was so good. I actually wish this was larger, I needed more bread slices! Our server gladly brought us extra butter for no additional charge, which I appreciated.

For our entrees, hubby got the steak and I got the shrimp pasta. He said the steak was good, but not great. My dish was excellent. I loved the fresh flavors and the sweet peas added so much to the buttery sauce. We both had leftovers and agreed that the dishes reheated so well that they tasted almost as good as they did the night before!

I was pleased with how reasonably priced the wine list was! I got a quality glass of sparkling wine for $14, and he got a special pickle juice cocktail for under $20. The cocktail was laughably small, but they didn’t skimp on liquor or flavors. The wine list and cocktail list are incredibly well curated.

The dining room was surprisingly empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. It was very easy to secure a reservation at the last minute. I hope that’s not forecasting a bad time ahead for this restaurant. Eventually a few tables started to fill in, but it was far from packed on a weekend night.

Despite a few bumps in the road, I will recommend 1228 Main and will be sure to return. I don’t think it’s destined to be a personal favorite of mine, but I will add it to our local dining rotation.

Truly the BEST juevos rancheros we’ve ever had. If you’re a banana bread fan, I highly recommend theirs. Delicious! Portions are generous. Our server Vanessa was outstanding. Staff friendly & attentive.

Excellent food served in a space with fantastic ambiance. The settling is perfect for brunch; although, there is a fabulous bar suitable for afternoon drinks and business meetings and lunches. In addition to a great selection of breakfast items, they serve an equally delicious selection of lunch choices. Hit up the coffee bar and pastry counter early, as they tend to sell out quickly.

Went back here in April and I still remember how amazing this place is! You can get a bunch of shareable bites and call it a good meal! The Slow Roasted Pork Belly was SOOOO AMAZING!!! They have a bunch of classes too, as shown by one of my pictures! What a wonderful way to teach others their craft! I would have liked a bit more lighting since it was a little dark in the corner where we sat. I really liked the oysters and the Green Salad mains, which was surprisingly fillining!
