Social Profile:

Pizzeria – Burger – Bistrot.

Funky restaurant set in a stone, cave-like spot offering pizzas, burgers & drinks.

This may well have been the best pizza I’ve ever had. Do not miss an opportunity to have a meal in this restaurant in the old town of Syracuse, Sicily. You will not be disappointed!

We came back after 4 years (2022->2026) and still it tastes like a dream 🙂 I fully recommend it, no matter which one you take it will be made with best ingredients. Great selection of wines. Pizza might be a bit more expensive than others but it’s worth it. We wanted to try another place after few days but ended up eating there again because it was so good that we didn’t want to risk it 😀

Super nice pizza! Also the pizza with the yellow tomato base (vulcanello) was super nice! Very friendly personnel, good service and a nice atmosphere! Definitely recommend:)

Quite pricey, compared to other pizza places. Both pizzas we got were from the “Gourmet” section. I highly recommend the Vulcanello pizza, I wouldn’t consider it very spicey, but it’s definitely unique taking into account the tomato sauce which tastes more like apricot jam – absolutely divine. I was debating between the Quattro Formaggi (a safe option) and something I’d never seen before, Ficogrande. Asked the waiter and he definitely recommended the latter, so I went for that. What came back was a sandwhich, not a pizza, really soggy inside, because of the truffle paste (couldn’t really taste the truffle at all) and the andives. The mozzarella was really chewy, and, unfortunately, I can say that it’s the most disappointing pizza I’ve ever had. Truly regretting going for this one and not sticking to the safe option. Also, my boyfriend ordered a beer which, in the menu, was 0,5l, but the waiter came back with a 0,33l.

After having so much pizza in ortigia we decided to try some burger and it was a totally disappointing experience. I recommend if you are good at something, please stick to it and let others to handle the burgers and perhaps other ingredients.

Presentation its good but the experience of eating it is totally the opposite.

I think my wife and I ate here three times during our stay in Ortigia. It was the best pizza we had on our trip. The ingredients are fresh. Perhaps it is pricey, but I would rather pay for quality. The atmosphere is really neat. it feels like a trendy pizza restaurant set in an ancient building. The wait staff was helpful, and one guy even remembered us on our second visit. When we left on our final visit, he walked out of the restaurant to tell us goodbye and wish us well. You can’t beat great food with kind, personal service.

By the way, the olive oil they use is based in Syracuse. We liked it so much we went to the olive oil shop and bought some if it to take home.

Followed a recommendation from a food/travel blogger and we were glad we did! The pizza was absolutely perfect. We had the Panarea and it was sooooo delicious. The crust was perfect. Best pizza we’ve had in Italy.
