There are few places these days where I have a hard time choosing between multiple entrées. Or rotating between them, depending on how you see a thing. The easy-to-choose start of a happy hour swirl margarita and the Queso Blanco Torres alone are massive selling points. But Salsa Tex-Mex Allen is that place where the food is well… grouped, I guess …? as to potential selections, it is VERY reasonably priced, -and- you get food in a large quantity. We have yet to even be charged for substitutions. It makes a place like Lupe Tortilla a ridiculous mistake; a mistake we only make once. All the staff at S T-M rotate the dining area making sure everyone is taken care of. Management is visible and refilling chips, taking empty plates, checking drinks – there is a magnificent sense of family inside the restaurant’s culture that they then extend to you. Nuestra camarera esta noche fue Melissa, and she was truly exceptional in every way. Thank you all for a wonderful experience yet again. I think I have about 3 days of meals in my leftovers before I’ll need to return.

Food was flavorful, if I can give a 10 star I would. I definitely recommend. I actually ordered a drink “mangonada” not a favorite and I expressed that to the kind waiter. I was not looking to get it off my check at all. But he did, thank you! If we ever comeback this way, this is where I will dine.

Salsa Tex Mex in Allen surprised me in the best way. I ordered the lunch carne asada, and it came out hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned with all the right sides. The food was solid, but what really made the visit stand out was our bartender/server/hostess, Araceli super friendly, attentive, and just on point. The place itself is clean, comfortable, with plenty of parking and a nice lunch menu that’s a good deal. Honestly, if it weren’t for Araceli’s great service, I might’ve just passed through, but thanks to her, I’d come back again for sure.

Update: Another shout out to Salsa Tex-Mex! Last night we enjoyed another evening drinking cold draft Modelo Especial and frozen strawberry-coconut margaritas! Our server Isabella took great care of us.

Salsa Tex-Mex in Allen has never disappointed with their great service, great atmosphere, and incredible service! Our favorite place to sit is at the bar where Martin is the lead bartender and does an incredible job of knowing exactly what you would like when you tell him something different.
If you have a large event you need to schedule or have some catering, this is an incredible venue. The managers work well with you and work within your budget and they’ve got several areas for more private events. They can put you either on the patio when the weather is nice or in their dining room, set up with a buffet to make things faster in a pinch.
An incredible dish that I would definitely recommend is the steak Carne Flameada. Salsa does a great job of tenderizing their meat and the seasonings they use are incredible. If you are reluctant of eating steak at a Mexican food restaurant, fear no more, salsa has the steak for you.

It was good, my daughters chimichanga was made wrong the first time but then they corrected it and it was good. My taco salad was good, shell was fresh. So overall it was pretty good for texmex. The staff was friendly.No military discounts.

Food was not good. Distracted service. Asked for water 3 times didn’t get it. Employees seemed to be partying in the kitchen, very loudly. Hostess seemed like she was having a bad day. Forgot one menu, picked up silverware but forgot to put it on our table. No smile, not welcoming.

I wish we had this restaurant in Denison Tx. 1st time here. I would give 99 out of 100. 1 of best tex mex I have tried. Im a picky eater. & I loved.

Overall: We eat here biweekly/monthly. Food is amazing & comes out fast, service is always great when we go. Everyone is nice. Tea is always fresh! We are Obsessed that we get a 3 dip situation for the yummy chips. We don’t wait long to sit.
However, (story time) There is a disconnect between front and back of house. Lately every other order I get is wrong. I ordered Steak Fajitas I get steak quesadilla. I order Steak Fajitas I get chicken Fajitas. I order shredded chicken Chimichanga I get steak. Sometimes the chile con queso is on top sometimes on the side. I can’t eat chocolate (like legitimately, & yes its a sad life) we order Flan every time we go. Sometimes there is chocolate sometimes there is none. I say “Could we have no chocolate” & sometimes the wait staff look puzzled and explain “It doesn’t come with it.” . I order the street tacos which the tortillas are so wet from whatever red/orange thing its marinated they fall apart, so I ask for extra corn tortillas they may or may not appear.
I am aware I’m part of the problem, because I never comment on it & just quietly eat it.I mean the food is very good, & the people are so nice, but Salsa sometimes a girl is having a bad day/pmsing & the order being wrong is going to be thing that causes her to awkwardly (for both me & my husband) cry on the way home! Plus my husbands order is NEVER wrong so what the heck!
So whatever I have done to incur the wrath of the Kitchen I formally apologize or maybe they just know better what I actually want on that day then I do. But we really like eating here so I guess I’m just accepting this as my fate.
