Quite possibly the ultimate farm-to-table experience. House-made charcuterie, heritage pork, and vegetables harvested straight from the garden. Pro tip: don’t skip the lobster supplement. A setting unlike any other – relaxed farmhouse charm paired with deeply refined, serious cooking. Huge thanks to Chef James and the FOH team (Jean Baptiste, Logan, Juliette, Nikola, Kanako, Roman)

Le Doyenné in Saint-Vrain is a truly exceptional experience, the kind of place that quietly raises your standards for what a restaurant can be. The setting is serene and timeless, surrounded by gardens that set the tone before you even walk in. The dining room has a refined simplicity, and the team carries the service with a natural grace that feels effortless.

The cuisine is extraordinary: precise, deeply flavorful, and rooted in the quality of the ingredients grown on the estate. Every dish tells a story without ever feeling forced. The pacing, the pairings, the atmosphere — everything is orchestrated with clarity and intention. It’s rare to find a place where the environment, the food, and the people align so perfectly. Le Doyenné is one of those rare places. A destination worth traveling for

So many things I could say about this place. We came for dinner and also stayed at the inn and had breakfast the next morning (pro tip: as good as dinner is, the breakfast is even better)

The atmosphere here is incredible. Quiet, secluded, peaceful and picturesque. Love the care and attention to detail that’s gone into all the interior design decisions, especially furniture and decor. Main dining hall is just gorgeous

Rooms are lovely and similarly well designed. The green tile and old fashioned fixtures are a great touch.

Food was fantastic. Fresh, nuanced, and incredibly well executed—especially down to the basics and fundamentals. Highly recommend even if you can only come in for a lunch or a dinner.

Hope to be back again!

Charming old French countryside estate, fully renovated in 2021.
The restaurant is wonderful and cozy in a large farmhouse with large windows that give onto the garden. Most of the produce used in the kitchen is locally sourced on the property. The home-made bread and pancetta were delicious!
The staff was beyond friendly, catering to an international crowd, you can tell they share the passion for this project. A wonderful experience.
Great for a weekend just one hour away from Paris

My second visit to this exceptional (stunning, sensational, delightful, …!) restaurant — the first time for a long Sunday lunch and overnight stay in winter, and this time for dinner in summer. All the food is so seasonal, delicious and beautifully executed, and the gardens, venue, aperitifs and wine pairings bring it all together and elevate the whole experience to another level. I would visit France just for this restaurant, it really is that good!

If you’re not staying overnight, arrive an hour early to enjoy a drink as you explore the gardens, and book your departing ride a good 3.5+ plus hours after your seating so you can enjoy all the courses are your leisure 🙂

Our stay here was truly unforgettable. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel completely at home—they’re all incredibly friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. After a stroll through the vegetable garden, we relaxed with an aperitif by the fireplace in the main dining room before dinner, which was truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every ingredient is locally sourced, either straight from the farm or from nearby producers. Imagine classic French cuisine with dishes like fire-roasted pigeon or Coquilles St. Jacques, elevated by surprising flavors courtesy of the vegetable garden.

The wine pairing was exceptional as well and truly expanded my eyes to new possibilities—I would have never considered both yellow wine and sweet beer with French cheeses, but it was an inspired choice that made a lasting impression. Dessert was equally unforgettable and will stay with me for a long time.

The next morning, as breakfast was served, a sense of melancholy crept in at the thought of leaving, softened only by one of the best omelets I’ve ever tasted, along with a spread of delicious pastries, charcuterie, and local cheeses.

In short, I would return in a heartbeat. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for its wonderful staff, incredible food, and inviting, down-to-earth ambiance.

The environment is incredible. Can’t believe it’s just 1hr outside of Paris. It was on my to do list for a while.
We came to dinner at the restaurant and stayed for a night in the occasion to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
We enjoyed our stay but there are some little things that could be improved in our opinion:
– the choice of the music while dining.
At a moment it was old rock&roll and we couldn’t quite understand why. It doesn’t match the atmosphere of the place at all.
– no explanation of the philosophy and vision of the restaurant, no information of the chef.
We had to look online ourselves on the homepage and on their Instagram page while dining.
It could be nicer if the staff could at least share the informations about the place the the vision of the concept because I think that’s the whole selling point.
And it could make our experience even more memorable and enjoyable.
-no amenities in the room. For a room of 300€ a night we were expecting to at least have a hair drier and slippers.
And we didn’t know if there’s wifi in the room because again nothing was explained.

What we liked about the cuisine:
– simple but very tasty and creative mix of texture and flavor.
-the home made bread and butter! (So good)
-the very high quality of breakfast and homemade jam and viennoiserie the next morning!

What we less enjoyed:
-The dessert. Too bland for a fine dining restaurant and comparing to the rest of the courses. No wow effect. For a fine dining restaurant we were expecting some thing more elevated.
But we did got a birthday candles thanks to the staff!
Overall a nice experience.
Next time probably will just come for lunch.

Wow! 10/10…Highly recommend you dine and stay at Le Doyenne. We drove the 1 hour from Paris to Le Doyenne to have dinner and stay the night. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Welcoming, friendly, attentive staff, beautiful food and a gorgeous room we stayed in. Loved walking around the vegetable gardens and greenhouse. Don’t forget to take tennis racquet!

Beautiful experience and escape from Paris. Everything is well appointed, rustic, and carefully considered to craft a dining experience that is interesting, surprising, tasteful, and varied. Service from the staff is top notch ans welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and the atmosphere is that of somewhere you could spend all day, a treat. Will be back.
