Whew this place is a hit! I’m always kinda weary of taco spots because you truly just don’t know how it’s gonna turn out but this place did not disappoint. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and explained to me the tacos are listed in order of popularity which was extremely helpful in my decision making. I got the number one choice of steak and cheese and then the Bangkok shrimp one. Both were fabulous! After finishing my meal my sweet tooth attacked so I got an order of the churros with their homemade caramel sauce. Another winner! Place was clean and food came out fresh and hot.

A great place to get “REAL” tacos. We went on a Friday afternoon around 2:30. You order at the counter seat yourself and they bring your tacos to you. It’s a cool place with open seating, interesting decor, and a lot to look at.
There were three of us and all of our tacos were absolutely delicious as well as the queso we ordered.

Great taco spot in Matthews! The flavors are unique and everything we tried was excellent. The tacos are creative but still really well balanced. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is casual and fun. Definitely one of the better taco places in Matthews — we’ll be back.

Oh boy! We have ordered many tacos as we love them.
The corn tortillas were flavorless, pork belly tacos were boring with chewy pork, heavy in sauce, no green in site and $8.00 each. None of us liked any of the tacos.
The most expensive tacos I have eaten including Manhattan.
The chef is heavy handed with sauce. Does not understand the delicate nature of a good taco. A taco should not be filled like a sandwich. You are not providing value. Just bulky food.
With 3 people, 11 tacos and soda water, we spent almost $100 with tip.
And the environment was not much better than McDonald’s.
A major disappointment!

White Duck Taco Shop… what is there to say… first, its not your typical taco shop thats for sure. Lamb Gyro taco with lettuce, cucumber, pico, feta and tzatziki? Say what??? General Tso Chicken taco with broccoli slaw, green onion, fried wontons and tahini? I’m sorry… WHAT??? I can go on and on bc the menu is full of incredibly “different” tacos that are seriously unconventional and some may even say offensive to what a “taco” should be. The thing is.. that’s why I love them! I love the idea of pushing the boundary of what a taco is and I love the idea of taco fusion concepts! Korean Beef Bulgogi taco with avocado puree and kimchi? SIGN ME UP FOR THREE PLZ! If you’re a taco purist and can’t imagine anything other than corn tortillas, delicious meats, and some cilantro, onion, and maybe a radish… then maybe this wont be the place for you. If you’re open to exploring how fun the world of tacos can be I’d say sit down and buckle up bc White Duck Taco Shop is quite possibly the most inventive taco spot I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience and I’m glad they’re pushing the limit of what a “taco” is.

The White Duck Taco is a good place if you would like to try a different kind of taco. It was very good and the service was supper fast. They serve a few alcoholic beverages and several different kinds of margaritas. I had the Darkwing and Count Duckula and they were delicious! Come check it out!

White Duck Taco Shop in Matthews, outside of Charlotte can accurately be described as a bougie taco place-they try to be different and yet the experience is subpar. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t busy.
We got:
Nachos with jackfruit: Easily the highlight of the meal with the jackfruit being quite flavorful
Banh Mi Tofu Taco: ugh, it tasted not great at all, we don’t recommend it
Chicken Tikka Masala Taco and Spicy Buffalo taco: Both were pretty good and had the right amount of kick to them
Black Bean Taco: These were good and we could really taste the mashed black beans
Fish Taco: This was okayish, not really our favorite
Overall, this taco restaurant didn’t deliver an experience that will make us coming back for more. They have other snacks and food items on their menu as well that might be worth checking out.

Restroom was clean. There’s a good amount of parking available outside.

I believe this restaurant is fairly new to the area. So, my wife and I thought we would give it a try. Overall, I enjoyed my experience.
We started with the chips and queso—which I thought was pretty good. However, the chips are very salty—not something I would complain about but I can see how it may be a little too much for some people.
I had three tacos: the steak and cheese, the fish taco, and the Zorba. By far, the steak and cheese was my favorite taco. The Zorba was also pretty good, although I would probably order something else next time. I was also looking forward to the fish taco but it wasn’t really that great in my option. The fish didn’t really have a flavor and was heavily reliant on the chipotle sauce for taste.
My wife is vegan and gave the Banh Mi Tofu taco a try. She wasn’t impressed. She said the tofu was strangely cold, as if it had been taken out of the refrigerator right before serving it.
Overall, I would still come back and I look forward to trying other items on their menu.
