Enoyed the service and comfortable, open interior. Although the soup I ordered was great, the French fries and beef and noodles were underwhelming. Fries were cold and beef& noodles (was more of a goulash looked nothing like the menu picture) did not taste fresh.

The food was nice, and hot, and tasted good. Our waitress was so nice, and helpful. The prices are extremely affordable, and the restaurant was very clean and beautifully styled. We ordered regular cheesecake, and the fire and ice cheesecake, and they were phenomenal!!
This is not the first time we have stopped at this one, and it definitely will not be the last!

My family and I were traveling to Detroit this past Friday to attend a loved one’s funeral service. We were tired and hungry as we had been on the road since 11pm Thursday night. We decided to stop at this location to sit down for a bit and eat.
There were 13 of us. We went in and the hostess arranged tables for us in the back of the restaurant so that we could all sit together. When we walked in, there were 4 or less patrons in the restaurant eating. We sat there for several minutes. No one ever came to take our drink or food orders. We continued to wait several more minutes. We noticed that other guests had come in and were seated and the waitress began taking their orders and bringing them beverages. One of the guests in our group, asked the waitress if she had forgotten about us. She replied “NO” but never came to assist us. She continued to the back of the kitchen…but before that, another couple had walked in. They were immediately seated and had their drink orders taken. At that point, we decided to leave.
This type of service is completely unacceptable. As I stated, the restaurant was at least 95 percent EMPTY. It was not busy at all. Even if there may have only been one or two waitresses on duty, the fact that no one (other than the hostess or waitress that seated us) ever thought to even acknowledge or serve us is demeaning. This is very poor customer service, to say the least. There is a lot more that could be said about this type of service but I feel it’s not necessary to mention if anyone can read between the lines. The last couple that came in and were seated immediately got up and walked out right behind us. They came to us and stated that they had just witnessed what happened and stated that it was not acceptable and decided not to patronize them as well. This is 2026…not 1936! NO excuse for this and no explanation is needed because it won’t be justified. Our money spends just as well as anyone else’s.

I was so happy to find a Frisch’s Big Boy still open so I had to stop and get something to eat when I was traveling home from work. The food was great, service was good they were a little busy, and I used the drive-thru when I stopped. They do have an open dine-in area as well.

Frisch’s in Defiance is my all time go to for their delicious Cod Sandwich and crinkle cut fries! The cod is just so light and delicious and the Frisch’s special tartar sauce just makes the sandwich perfect! It’s my favorite lunch spot when I’m in Defiance!

We arrived at the restaurant at 7:16 p.m. today on a Wednesday. Must have been the manager in charge, he started putting up the chairs on the tables nearby us. Another employee was running a sweeper which we asked our waitress if she could wait until we ate our food. Which she had already realized it and stopped on her own.
We ordered fish sandwiches which the buns were fresh and the fish was good. Tartar sauce was soaked into the bun. Fries we’re hot and coleslaw was good.
The waitress’s voice was so soft that we didn’t know if she was sick or if she just did not speak up.
Wanted to order a vanilla shake and she told us that we could only have pie or cake.
Restroom floor was so sticky. Our shoes stuck to both women’s and men’s. Entrance doors needed cleaned.
Notice that hours were shortened. So hoping that your staff is polite and friendly in the morning because it was not that way this evening.

Was really excited to come here. Haven’t been to a Big Boys since I was a little girl.
Was very disappointed, Chicken tenders were paper thin and tasted like the oil was burnt that they were fried in. Mac n cheese was rubbery, and mashed taters tasted like they mixed real with instant. Husband said the only thing good about his cod dinner was the texas toast. Which I have to admit the toast was amazing.

Wife and I stopped in late today,Monday,ordered western omelets. As soon as our food was plated up it was on its way to us. With other restaurants in the area when we get hash browns you can see the plate through the potatoes. In the years we’ve been coming here we have always had excellent service and excellent food. Thank you
