A place with an authentic, comforting taste of Vietnam. The restaurant has a nice ambiance that captures the feeling of a bygone era, complete with antique decor, rustic wooden shelving, and a cozy atmosphere. We had a traditional meal set served on a metal tray with a clay pot and charming ceramic bowls, making it feel like you are eating a home-cooked family meal. We had the cơm âm phủ . I really liked the savory side dishes and pickled veggies.

Good foods and good service! The staffs are so lovely and give amazing recommendations!
A lot of options including homey Viet dishes, street foods, fancy seafood or vegetarian.
I love the bún mắm and bún chả Hà Nội here!
The drink menu is interesting (recommend avocado smoothie, winter melon tea and peach ice tea). Literally bring you to Viet Nam

Co Thu Quan in St Albans is honestly a gem. If you’re craving REAL, bold, authentic Vietnamese flavours, this place delivers big time. The crispy Vietnamese pancake stuffed with shrimp and pork is crazy good — super crispy on the outside and packed with flavour.

Their fermented fish vermicelli with catfish? Wow. It’s rich, aromatic, and exactly the kind of dish you’d only find in Vietnam. The fresh rice paper rolls with dried shrimp and sour mango are another highlight — refreshing, tangy, and totally unique.

And don’t even get me started on the crispy egg noodles with seafood… super yum and insanely satisfying.

Service is quick, portions are generous, and everything tastes like home-style Vietnamese cooking with real depth.
Highly recommend — this spot is worth the trip.

First time to take my Serbian friend to try this restaurant. He was so impressed with grilled pork on rice and mango smoothie . Food was delicious, we ordered Bánh tráng cuốn and bánh xèo. Huge bánh xèo so we couldnt finish. The deco’s really interesting with old Vietnamese stuff, which my friend was very excited to get to know. Staff were friendly, restaurant owner was welcoming too. It was a satisfying experience to me and my friend. Definitely will come back, only few steps from station

All the food here is so nice. 10/10 for both quality and quantity. Besides the signature dishes as ‘bun mam’, ‘canh bun’, the Vietnamese street food also to be must try here. ‘Banh trang tron and cut lon xao me’ are amazing, the taste likes in Vietnam. Highly rec Co Thu Quan when you visit st Albans

One of the best Vietnamese food spots I’ve tried, super busy when we went. They have wide variety of options from street food to unique Vietnamese dishes. Their crab noodle is so good, the broth is rich and full of umami flavour! The noodles are so silky, the crab is so fresh and really good with the sauce they gave on the side! Their bun cha and Vietnamese pancake is also delicious.

I ordered the stir-fried beef and hu tieu with noodles and meat. The dishes were well seasoned, with tender, flavorful beef. The hu tieu used My Tho–style rice noodles, and the broth was rich and tasty, making it very enjoyable. The restaurant has a cool, spacious atmosphere. The staff were quick and attentive, and the food was served promptly. In addition, the menu offers a good variety of snacks and refreshing drinks.

Came here twice to try their food. Pha Lau is tasty and their banh mi is served crunchy hot which I appreciated coz not many places pay attention to this bit. However their banh xeo is not there, it was somehow more chewy than crunchy, made it hard to finish the whole pancake.
I came the second time to try their xôi mặn, hmm it is defs not the traditional usual xôi man or at least probs not southern sticky rice, the rice itself is alright, however it was served with pate and sweet fish sauce instead of the normal soy sauce, I honestly couldn’t finish the whole serve coz it’s pretty plain. And the sauce does not complement the dish.
We ordered orange juice but it was wayyy too sweet from the sugar they put in there. The childhood drink is pretty good tho.
Staff are lovely and friendly all the time. A little hard to catch their attention but they’re pretty helpful.

First time at this restaurant. The service was quick and attentive. The Canh Cua was nice, but I don’t think it was worth the $35 market price. I only received two small pieces of crab and didn’t get a claw like I saw in other reviews. Overall, it was a nice visit, and I’d come back, but next time I’ll try a different dish. The Pandan milk tea was delicious though!

Very sad to write this review but we had one of the worst dining experience in st albans so far with Co Thu Quan St Albans unfortunately.
We dined in one of the friday nights so understand that it will be busy. We stood in the restaurant with baby in my arms for a good 10 mins or more without any staffs’ attention. They just walked pass us and ignored us countless times. Until we asked different staffs multiple times for a table then they said to wait. There were empty tables but no staffs cleaned up and ready to serve us. we waited for awhile still no response so we decided to walk out. The moment we walked out then only a staff run out and called us in. We decided to give it a go.
Took long time again to order and for the food to come. We ordered hanoi grilled pork noodle and signature canh bun. Canh bun was very average, nothing special. If you cant handle spicy, ensure to ask them to put the chilli on the side. If you just eat whatever they put in the bowl, your tongue will be on fire. The hanoi grilled pork noodle was super salty they both I and my husbane couldnt eat it. We just nicely asked the staff for extra water to put in the bowl to make it less salty. Again, we waited awhile but nothing. We asked again another staff and he said he will ask the chef about it if he or she can fix it. After that, we heard a lady (not sure if chef or kitchen hand) inside the kitchen (they prob didnt know we sat on the table right in front of the kitchen and can hear what they said) literally screaming to others in vietnamese after tasting the noodle này, mày thử đi, mày thử xem có mặn không mà nó kêu mặn and then some cursing and swearing so loudly that we all can hear it. It was awful. Very unacceptable tone and attitude. Of course the staff brought my noodle out again and said that the chef tasted it and said it was perfect. We then again just ask for the water to put in to make it less salty.
The meal wasnt good but we still just ate it and went along without any drama. But when we hear that lady chef/kitchen hand cursing (us) like that then this needed to be said, thus, this review.
We definitely wont be back to this restaurant and wont recommend it to anyone.
