As an advocate for local businesses, particularly those with Hawaiian roots, I feel obliged to share my ambivalent experience at this establishment. Having previously visited several years ago with underwhelming results, I opted to utilize their delivery service to assess potential improvements over time. My order did not include the recommended garlic shrimp or chicken katsu; instead, I chose the mochiko chicken and had the macaroni salad as an included side dish, which others have praised. Although the flavors in the chicken were present, it was slightly overcooked, resulting in an unappealing appearance that was too dark and almost burnt. The mac salad lacked distinctiveness and exhibited a somewhat artificial flavor profile, reminiscent of another local eatery. On the positive side, the portions were generous, and the food arrived at a satisfactory temperature. While I may consider giving them another opportunity, I would likely select a different dish. I couldn’t judge the atmosphere or the service because again I got delivery.

We usually go to Aloha in the California when visiting, but we decided to try something different and closer to South Point. The food just wasn’t very good. Service and atmosphere was good. Aloha is 10 times better. I guess, stick with what you know is good. Aloha for Hawaiian and Joe’s NYC Pizza for pizza, Blueberry Hill for breakfast.

Came for dinner. Dined in. No wait. Ordered the kimchi tako poke with a house salad for $20. The meat was bland, firm, and chewy. The taste of kimchi was not present and the rice was over saturated. The house salad was fresh and the sauce for it was savory and spicy. Medium sized dining area. The staff were friendly and attentive. The bathroom is secured with a code and was clean. Would not come back for another meal as a majority of the meal was horrible on all counts.

Hawaiian food is my comfort food. Haven’t had much luck finding the taste I wanted in Vegas that reminds me the most of the food in Hawaii. But thankfully, Kahuku is now my go-to for those cravings. The owners are both lovely people from Hawaii who really know how to capture the authenticity and essence of the island cuisine. I had katsu, bbq chicken, garlic shrimp, and fresh tuna poke. The katsu and bbq chicken are just the right amount of crisp and char respectively. The garlic shrimp is reminiscent of Giovannis in Hawaii, but I’m somewhat biased towards Kahuku’s.. The tuna poke was featured in the Wall Street Journal for good reason and did not disappoint one bit. Fresh, savory, sweet. Everything you look for in fresh poke by the pound. Portions are fantastic as well. Worth it worth it worth it. Thank you, Kahuku, for existing in Vegas!
Also, mac salad was awesome. Not too mayo-y and perfect with Sriracha.

Hi there Angie 🙂 I am Ken in NJ. We are safely back to NJ now and I just wanted to leave a message here since we had more than ever expected Poke and Locomoco and such a wonderful kindness from you.
I had the most amazing experience at this Hawaiian poke shop! The poke was fresh and incredibly flavorful, and the texture was out of this world – it was so chewy and delicious. I felt like I was transported to Hawaii with every bite. The owner was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the ingredients and preparation methods, which made the experience even more special. We also tried the Locomoco, which was fantastic. It’s clear that the owner takes great pride in their food and it definitely shows in every dish. I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to come back for more!
It’s a hidden gem. If you are looking for something new and delicious to try, then give it try you won’t regret it!!

Devastated to see my favorite Korean corn dog shop broken into this morning. Miss Lilian Lee the owner is the sweetest and did not deserve this mess days before her grand opening. You can’t miss with anything from Kahuku Poke and Two Hands! I recommend the BBQ plates with extra Mac salad and any corn dog with cheese and a horchata slush! Great late night eats! Delicious!!!!

Me and the wife love coming here. The chicken katsu slaps, especially with the macaroni salad. The lady up front is always super friendly. We probably come about once or twice a month and it’s very consistent.

Service was FANTASTIC. Picked up some BBQ after getting some groceries and I was amazed at how good the service was. The lady working the register had a hospitality I haven’t seen in years. Food was made fresh and the meat was juicy. Menu items were reasonably priced.

I ordered in Uber Eats with this retaurant, it showed “buy 1 take 1” but only got one of each that they advertised “buy 1 take 1! When I called the restaurant I was told to contact uber regarding the discrepancy! But who takes the order?! It’s the restaurant! Uber only gave me $2.00 which the food cost $3100.plus service fee!
This isn’t right! Aside with the food isn’t good at all. There wasn’t even a single sauce for the fried oysters! Very disappointing! Uber Eats can’t even correct what’s missing with my order! The restaurant was pointing to Uber Eats so I can get the missing order. So if Uber Eats had 1 or more missing orders you will only get $2.00?! So ridiculous and frustrating! Don’t use Uber Eats as there wasn’t any protection on your end! And this restaurant once they get your money they will cheat with your orders!
