ive been coming here since childhood and it always hits the spot. my usual order is a strawberry flavor burst with chocolate jimmies in a cake cone, but their banana buckets are awesome and worth ordering. just had the strawberry shortcake for the first time and it was great. the biscuits!

Best place on the beach to get ice cream by far. The soft serve is so silky, and they have great flavor bursts. The Dole whips are also delicious, and the sundaes are amazing. They do ice cream right. There’s even a small parking lot with a 15-minute limit if you don’t feel like parking along the road. Sometimes the lines are long, but they move fast. The prices are pretty average. Only complaint is that the machines are sometimes broken or something is out of stock, so you can’t get exactly what you want.

Got 3 ice creams and a shake – it came out to $27. The ice reams were pretty good, basically what you expect from soft serve. The shake was thick and creamy. It was supposed to be coffee flavor, but there was almost zero flavor. Occasionally I would hit a pocket of flavor. Not great for a $6 shake.
You can get flavor added to your soft serve which is basically a drizzle that they add. My daughter got hers with cotton candy and she said it was good.

A lot of good memories are associated with Kell’s Creme. For starters, my family would go here on the first day of our yearly Boston trip for our dessert after having some delicious food from Kelly’s Roast Beef. Additionally, we would go to the Swampscott location on random summer nights just to have a taste of that homemade vibe; the ice cream was always good and plentiful. Unfortunately, the Lynn location closed down, however I am quite glad that the others have not done so.

The Sunday late afternoon/night staff is definitely not anywhere near as great as the rest of the week. This is the 3rd Sunday in a row I stopped by Kelly’s Kream and within the one minute it took from getting my ice cream at the window and walk directly across the street my ice cream was a melted mess. It’s not even hot out either for it to be this way. They said all they had available to was chocolate and vanilla soft serve, nothing else. Yet two of the four vanilla ice creams I got had red and green streaks through them as if they added flavoring. The jimmies by the time I walked across the street also were about 95% off the ice cream and in a puddle in the box. The girls were not polite as the other girls who usually are there. I’ve been coming to Kells since I was a kid and this is not what us long time residents remember of this place. Like everything else in the area it has gone downhill and to the yuppies. They think this place is great. Too bad they didn’t know how it used to be at its peak.
