Absolutely fantastic experience at Montevino. The food was outstanding, and our server, Marina, was truly exceptional. I’m notoriously indecisive, and she patiently walked me through the menu and helped us choose dishes we loved. We started with the compressed watermelon and the mussels—both were excellent. For mains, the short rib risotto and the carbonara were rich, comforting, and perfectly executed. To finish, I asked Marina to surprise us with dessert, and she brought out an incredible tiramisu that was the perfect ending to the meal. Amazing service, delicious food, and a great overall vibe. Highly recommend.

Have been coming here for years. They’ve rebranded and added a new chef with all handmade pasta (minus gluten free) even on the kids meals. Not too loud, excellent attentive service, and the food has stepped it up a notch. Check out the smoked Old Fashioned….

This place used to be really good. It was called Slice of Italy and the food was great. Their food was so subpar compared to what used to be served there. My wife is usually reticent to ever be directly critical of the food and would only say so in private, but she couldn’t help but ask the waiter if the pizza was frozen. Not only that it looked like a frozen boxed pizza, but the flavor wasn’t even comparable to a frozen pizza. The gnocchi texture was okay, but the sauce was lacking in any flavor. Bolognese was fair. I will say the service was great and always loved the atmosphere there, but we would rather eat at a hole in the wall with no ambience and poor service if they served good food. I’m at the point in my life where I don’t sweat prices, but for the quality of their food they should be ashamed of their prices. This is the first online review I’ve ever made, but I felt that the public should know that this place doesn’t seem aware of what it takes to prepare a good meal.

I was surprisingly disappointed with my takeout. I have never left a review at any restaurant in my life but had to because this was not good. The carbonara has noodles that are the exact same you’d get in a microwaved ramen noodle packet. There was no flavor and the bacon was actually ham. The chicken ravioli was closer to Mexican food than Italian. Had a very strong lime taste like I was eating a street taco. Overpriced for the quality of food that was received.

The hostess was rude to us as we were walk ins with no reservation. Not sure why as the restaurant wasn’t even half full and didn’t fill up while we were there. The waitress disappeared after bringing our meals as our glasses sat empty and we waited for the check. The portions we received were tiny. I ordered the lamb chops. I got two small chops that were mostly bone. There was maybe 6 small bites of meat. My friend ordered the ravioli and had 7 small raviolis. We also got the cheesecake and it was 1/3 to 1/2 the size of an average slice. We left annoyed and hungry. At the price level, the service and food should be much better.

I was told that this place has the best pizza in Snowmass. Sadly not true. The veggie pizza was bland, almost flavorless, and served barely lukewarm. The crust had promise as it was well browned, but ended up being disappointing. Elk Camp has better pizza to be honest.
My friend ordered the Ricotta appetizer which was nice, but the amount of bread and credit was inadequate for the amount of cheese dip. He also had the pesto which he said was OK.
Very disappointed as I had higher expectations based on folks’ recommendations and reviews. The service was not very good either. Polite, but clearly not ordering alcohol with lunch suggested that we did not want water refills, nor did the dishes warrant parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes until we asked for them twice.
Skip. (Usually has a long line too – third attempt to get in!)

Food is honestly one of the worst italian foods we’ve had in our lives. We ordered the seafood soup which was extremely salty to the point where we lost our taste buds while the ‘home made pasta’ seemed like overcooked ramen noodles. The meat had a sour taste to it like it was on the border of going bad.
While the waiter and manager were understanding and accommodating, the quality of the food for the price was terrible.
Don’t go here for the food. You’ll really regret it.

This place was close to our condo and it sounded delicious! We came on “Wine Wednesday” do half price wine by the glass or bottle. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, but VERY expensive. Just be prepared to drop a pretty penny. It was delicious though!

Ilija is an amazing server — very caring, attentive, and professional.
He recommended an excellent wine to pair with the carbonara pasta and gave us clear, helpful explanations about the food.
Everything was perfectly organized, and the overall experience was 10/10.
