The good was really great for the price point. The fried calamari wasn’t over cooked or rubbery. The pizza was actually very good. The chicken Piccata and chicken scarp were great. The Piscata’s lemon sauce was amazing. My chicken scarp was great The hot peppers really made The dish pop. The side of pasta I got with it I used the sauce from the chicken and it was amazing. The service was ac little slower than in would have liked. But you don’t feel rushed as you would in other restaurants. We will be back again. For family dinner night. AND CASH ONLY!
There are two parking lots and on street parking

The pizza was outstanding—crispy and the sausage is a must. The Chicken Scarp exceeded the already high expectations. Calamari Diavlo was on point . Don’t miss the homemade Italian cheesecake.

La Manda’s, if not already, will become your go to when you are craving authentic old school Italian meal. Atmosphere is quaint and vibe is friendly. You will be treated like family and owner will most likely stop by your table to see that all is as it should be. Options you should not miss are their fried calimari, red pepper pesto linguine and chicken parmigiana. Portions are truly generous so you will, almost certainly, be taking home enough leftovers for another full meal. Prices extremely reasonable. For shared appetizer and two entrees and glass of wine and soda, bill came to $75. We love, love, love this place. You will too!!!!!

Italian cuisine. Two parking lots in the back, and street parking. Service is attentive and helpful. Old world charm. No table cloths, but food is delicious. I do recommend it, and we will go back…we have for the last 28 years. Pictures below: Zuppa di Peace over spaghetti, and Chicken Scarparo.

This place is an institution – and deservedly so. You will feel like family, if your family could make the greatest Shrimp Luciano in the universe.

La Manda is old school Italian American. Who cares about the aging interior, it is about the food, the family who runs it and the hospitality. I hope they never change.

If you high end or if you want fancy go somewhere else. As the aging owner says, “we shop at the same places”

It is now kind of like going over to someone’s for family dinner since the 90 year old owner spent a lot of time at the table entertaining us. His family was a booth over having their dinner. They have owned it almost 60 years… (With no apparent updates ;c).

At one time there were more of these classic places, 30 years ago i visited many, particularly by Dobbs Ferry and over in Jersey. Love them.. La Manda is a great example. Usually these places die with the owner, here the 50 year old son should keep it going.

We started with the well dressed, simple head lettuce salad. You’ve had it.

Next the escarole in brodo soup and Pasta Fajole.

The tender veal entrees & sauces were outstanding. We had both the Franchese (here Picatta with breading) and the venerable Marsala. A couple refills of the bread basket were used mopping up the extra sauce. The Italians have a word for that…

Sides of pasta we’re good.

I had a good look at the brick oven and want to come back for pizza.

Sorry no photos of the food, we were too hungry.

The four of us shared 2 salads, 2 soups and 2 entrees, the bill was $62. Crazy. In Westchester, unbelievable. If they didn’t own the building they couldn’t offer that kind of value.

Go, this is the kind of Italian American food & family that captured the heart of this country.

There’s a certain charm to an old school pizza joint or other Italian eatery that’s cash only and this spot is one of them. On reviews I’ve seen on here and the One Bite app, there are complaints about the pizza being greasy and floppy and although it’s true here, greasy cheese adds flavor and provides a good dipping sauce for the crust. The pizza did have a nice char on the crust. I find Portnoy’s 5.9 being a bad take, a rarity for Dave. To me it’s a 7.5. The pizza I had here was better than Planet Pizza across the street.

When you’re craving authentic, old-school Italian food, La Manda’s is your place. Everything we’ve tried on the menu has been consistently delicious each time. In addition, the cozy ambiance is full of nostalgia that only an old-school Italian joint can deliver. The thin-crust brick-oven pizza has been one of my favorites around, and the wine menu provides a perfect pairing for it all. Definitely check it out if you haven’t. It’ll become one of your favorite spots.
