We visited recently and thought this was very good. Not 5* excellent, but very, very good and for those of you who don’t mind reviews that are different to “this was the best place ever, 5*” or “shocking, don’t go, 1*”, then hopefully this is useful.

It’s a small plates menu (except for their Sunday lunch, which we would recommend as 5*). I’ve tried to get on board with small plates, but I’ve yet to be persuaded that the priority is anything other than to make you pay more for a full portion of food than if you just ordered a main meal. When the response to “no we’ve not been here before” is “OK I’ll just explain the menu to you”, I’m just not persuaded that small plates is really a good thing.

One main meal? Brilliant.
3-4 small tapas? Beautiful.
A small plate for 2-3 carrots for not much short of £10? Hm. Sorry, no.

There were 3-4 “big small plates”. Tbh, I’d have rather just had any one of these as a main meal, with the best smaller plates as a starter.

That being said, rant over… the food was very good. It’s comparable in quality to Stretford Canteen and Pip, but probably a little cheaper than SC and probably a more generous portion than Pip.

Another comparison would be Higher Ground. It’s a bit cheaper than their set menu, but the quality and originality at HG is much, much higher. This food was generally very good quality, but there wasn’t a vast amount that a very good cook couldn’t prepare at home.

A minor gripe again about the carrots. They’re so cheap. The expense of a carrot dish is the skilled staff time. They’re a perfect restaurant ingredient because they’re cheap but they’re fantastic prepared with skill like at 10 Tib Lane. If you’re going to charge so much for a carrot dish, give us a few more carrots please.

The puddings were good. The cheese, pear and spiced bread was beautiful. But the rhubarb wasn’t tart enough to go with a sweet biscuit and a sweet mousse.

We loved the wine list and the generous “No/Low” alcohol menu. I’d have loved one more non-alcoholic beer option for those that don’t enjoy German-style lager. There are some excellent 0.5% pale ales and IPAs by Manchester breweries (or Guinness 0.0 is great too).

So all in all, very good. But we’ll probably only be going back for their (absolutely superb) Sunday lunch or a drink.

Came here for a belated birthday celebration last night and it was everything and more. We were so looked after from all the staff, it was honestly such a wonderful night.

We ordered everything from oysters, cocktails and the best Porchetta Sunday roasts and desserts. Everything was just incredible and we are already planning a return visit.

Thank you so much to everyone at 10 Tib Lane for looking after us- you’ve made my birthday super special!

Went to 10 Tib Lane yesterday (Sunday) with my friends there were five of us, and we all had the Sunday Roast.
Honestly, it was the best Sunday Roast I’ve had so far! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the service was great
The only thing I didn’t like was the dessert at the end it didn’t quite match the level of the main course.
But overall, I’d highly recommend this place!

Wasn’t sure where to have lunch today, but remembered 10 Tib Lane from a visit last year. So glad we did!!
A short menu which changes every few weeks.
The food was delicious – Sourdough, Beignets, Pickled Mackerel followed by a shared Dairy Cow Ribeye with a side of new potatoes. When it was served we realised we hadn’t ordered any greens, so the Chef rushed some through for us – great service. Finally a very good Treacle Tart.
Service from all the staff was excellent but Lucia in particular stood out.
We won’t be leaving it so long again!

Had a wonderful time with my family here. I put in a slightly odd special request and the team handled it with pure professionalism and made the night super special for my family. The food was great, in particular the charred leek dish with a lovely hit of lemon. We were really looked after by Abdul who made sure everything was perfect for us. Would highly recommend.

I love it here.
I come all the time for food and/or drinks. Every time the staff and experience is brilliant.
The cocktails are unique and inventive.
They also do happy hour on the cocktails and oysters!
Food is lovely and creative too.
They change the menus seasonally, which means you get to try lots of different stuff each time you visit.

First time visiting this restaurant, really hope I get to visit again as the whole experience was amazing. We were lucky enough to sit in a quieter area upstairs. Our waiter (Abdul I believe) made us feel very relaxed and was very professional and prompt. Nothing was to much trouble including providing one of our group with a very personal drink choice. The food was completely out of this world. I ate food I would never normally order but so so glad I did. Well done to everyone involved.

Reasonably priced, cosy, lovely service and a creative menu with dishes to suit everyone. Wines are especially reasonable. You can have fresh oysters, a range of small dishes – cod’s roe on toast with pickled radish and dill was generous and delicious. Duck pate also very good. Or have a 500g rib eye! You just know the kitchen can be trusted. Some lovely cheeses, and fab treacle tart with clotted cream. We thought this place a real find and wish we lived closer. We’ll worth seeking out if you don’t know it. Cosy, casual tables and a bar downstairs, more formal restaurant upstairs. Best of all, nothing trendy or up itself, just an honest, genuine welcome.

Fabulous experience for my birthday dinner. I am still thinking about the whole experience a week later. I had two cocktails which tasted fresh and delicious. I would recommend the ‘Have you ever?’.

The service was great. Staff were friendly and explained the menu in a lovely way.

The food was delicious. We started with some oysters and then had five plates between two. I had dessert because I really wanted to try the rhubarb and custard tart. I am glad I did. Thank you for a great evening and making it worth getting a babysitter 🙂

The fish was decent, but the overall experience was disappointing.

My friend joined me and was told he could no longer be served alcohol, with staff accusing him of “stumbling in” but he was practically sober. It felt humiliating and unnecessarily judgemental. We then waited over an hour for our food, after the waiter announced he was taking a 30-minute “time out.”

For a meal costing £180+, you’d expect a level of hospitality, not hostility.

When I politely pushed back, it wasn’t welcomed. And as I left, having said thank you, the manager patted me on the shoulder and said, “You need to learn to respect people.” Ironic, given they’re supposed to be in hospitality.

I wouldn’t go back and would suggest trying somewhere else. It simply isn’t worth it.
