I called a week before an event for a small 6″ round cake and cupcakes- I was looking for a “cinnamon roll” theme, cream cheese frosting, cinnamon cream filling and vanilla cake. I had a photo of what I was looking for but couldn’t get into the bakery with my schedule, so the young lady I spoke with asked for the website and looked it up herself so she understood what we were looking for. She let me know it was no problem except they would not be able to provide the cinnamon sticks- which was fine because I could do that finishing touch myself. It was ready on time, beautiful, and delicious! And very reasonably priced! When I went to pick it up I saw why this bakery is so popular- this place is full of tempting treats, even at 4 in the afternoon! The event we purchased the cake for was an elopement and it was just perfect. Can’t wait to taste it again on our 1 year anniversary!

They knocked it out of the park for my parents 50th wedding anniversary cake. They helped with the size and decor and it was spot on. The marble cake custard filling and whipped icing was to die for! They even offered flowers the had in the store. For me being a “just help me” person and only wanting a good cake with some gold for the “golden” anniversary, they nailed it!!! Everyone added where we got it from. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was phenomenal. Thank you so, so much!!!

So close to being great but just missing something in the cakes, pastries, doughnuts, cupcakes etc, At least all that I have gotten from then over the years. Its hard to pin IT down.
Wish I could be more specific so to also be more helpful in a way that might invite change/improvements.
Best I can do is to point out that Snickerdoodles had that “great” factor. The “thing” that netted empty shelves, a backlog of custom orders and multiple 5 star reviews. Above and beyond their delicious coffee and espresso drinks etc.
Snickerdoodles was hands down one of the best bakeries I ever ate at! In my personal opinion, Bertuccos bakery items/deserts etc. need that “special something” to push it to that level. Im a cook, not a baker so I cant quite pinpoint what that extra “it factor” would be.
For example, everyone thought the yellow cake with chocolate icing was kind of boring, dense and dry. The icing didn’t have enough flavor. It was good but not great. If it was a cake from Ole snickerdoodles it would have been GONE. If not I’d be literally thinking about when I got to eat more. Additionally the cup cakes we ate the previous night (while good) were 4 stars, not 5.
I feel guilty leaving a review with some criticism but at least I’m not comparing it to a Walmart cake. Lol. I feel obligated to say, I once got a cake from them a few years back that had that old, stale flour taste too and that never happened at other bakeries as far back as I can remember.
All said they are a convenient option for me for something a “step up” in how it looks, how it smells, in the range of options and more. Just not a great step up in taste/flavor. If they improve that.. WATCH OUT! There will be lines out the door into the parking lot.
I’d like to say I go there for more than convenience but I don’t think I can say that for 80% of the treats I’ve gotten from Bertuccos. I think they are the type to take a critical review and use it to make improvements. Making structural changes in how a business produces the product it sells, however, is never easy.
Till that time though, Bertuccos gets 4 stars. That ain’t bad and they certainly deserve it.

Just had a marshmallow creme donut. At the first bite, you can always tell this isn’t a mass produced one. Slightly crisp on the outside, soft and pillowy inside, and loaded with flavor. The creme is simply outstanding. Attention to detail is what sets this bakery apart.

I have been to this bakery many times. The aroma hits you as soon as you walk through the door. Growing up in the 60s, this was what a bakery used to look, smell and taste like. They have many delicious pastries, cookies and desserts to choose from just like a true bakery should. I would highly recommend Bertucco’s.

I got married last month in Emmitsburg – (my husband and I aren’t from the Maryland area) so we went on a whim with ordering our wedding cake and desserts from Bertucco’s Bakery — we’re SO HAPPY we did! They were nothing short of spectacular! The chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were perfection, and the cannoli cupcakes were an absolute hit with our guests—people are still raving about them!
Each dessert was delicious, with fruit tarts and key lime tarts receiving endless compliments. My dad’s side of the family is Italian, and the cannolis were the first to go, everyone loved them!! The attention to detail and flavor for all the desserts was truly amazing! And what really stood out was their ability to accommodate my gluten-free needs for the wedding cake without sacrificing taste. The cake was fluffy, delicious, and beyond my expectations! We have it in our freezer right now, and can’t wait to cut another slice for our one month anniversary in a few days!

AMAZING local bakery! They are my family’s “go-to” every time! Have enjoyed everything I have ever tasted here…the rainbow cakes are my absolute fave!! Had my biggest custom cake request yet for them…for my daughter turning 21 who wanted a vintage heart cake with a whimsical feel & mushrooms in sage green & pink. I shouldn’t have been surprised when they exceeded my expectations! It was absolutely gorgeous & perfect (these pics don’t do it justice!), too pretty I didn’t want to cut it haha!
