Let me tell you something — Brunner’s Tavern isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a cathedral of flavor, a temple of hospitality, and on the night I visited, it felt like I was witnessing the culinary equivalent of the 2025 Notre Dame Fighting Irish storming the College Football Playoff.
The moment I walked through those doors, the air itself tasted like victory. The hum of conversation mingled with the clinking of pint glasses, and I swear for a second I heard the distant echo of the Notre Dame Victory March. This wasn’t dinner — it was destiny.
I ordered what can only be described as the Holy Trinity of Tavern Glory:
20 wings — crisped to perfection, tossed in a sauce so flavorful it could make a grown man sing the alma mater.
A perfectly chilled beer, the golden elixir that felt like a celebratory Gatorade bath after a last-second game-winning touchdown.
And a side of macaroni salad so creamy and balanced it deserved its own Heisman campaign.
The wings arrived like an offensive line at full steam — powerful, unstoppable, perfectly structured. Each bite had the crunch of a goalpost shattering under a record-breaking field goal. The sauce, a flawless blend of heat and flavor, didn’t just coat the wing — it embraced it like Marcus Freeman embracing Sam Hartman after a fourth-quarter comeback drive. I almost looked around for the marching band to play me out.
The beer? Oh, the beer. Cold, crisp, a pint of liquid confidence. This wasn’t just a beverage. It was like being in Notre Dame Stadium on a crisp October night, 80,000 fans roaring, the sky electric with possibility. One sip and I could practically hear the commentators shouting, “AND THE IRISH HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!”
But the unsung hero, the offensive lineman of the meal, was the macaroni salad. Creamy, cool, with a perfectly balanced tang — it played its role like a left tackle protecting the blind side. It didn’t seek the spotlight, but without it, the whole experience wouldn’t have been the same. It was the Joe Alt of side dishes.
By the time I finished, I wasn’t just full — I was triumphant. My taste buds had been to the promised land and back. If Brunner’s Tavern were a football team, they’d be Notre Dame 2025: disciplined, explosive, and destined for greatness. This wasn’t a meal. It was a championship run.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Five stars, two goalposts, and one deliriously happy diner.
If you haven’t eaten at Brunner’s Tavern yet, you’re basically still in the off-season. Get off the sidelines and into the game.

I wish i could give negative stars for this place to start took over an hour for our waitress to come over and take our order and bring us our waters which were never refilled the whole next hour we were there we both got the steak sandwich and 10 wings each she said wings would be out last because they take the longest after an hour wings finally came out weren’t too bad honestly just standard wings not much to complain about the steak sandwich was probably the worst thing I’ve ever eaten to start i asked for medium steak, half was well done half was medium, i asked for no mushroom whole thing was covered in mushrooms, sandwich was hard as a rock to bite into, definitely was sitting back there awhile it was ice cold and the bread was soggier than a piece that’s been floating in the river for a month had 0 taste to it could barely cut it with a fork and knife. She also forgot my potato salad had to ask her about 7 times if i was gonna get my potato salad and eventually she came back with half a to-go container with potato salad which was absolutely trash aswell waiter took my fries off to make up for the $25 sandwich i took 2 bites of big 3$ discount woohoo waitress was just cold and mean and truthfully sucked at her job $80 down the drain i wouldn’t feed this food to homeless people save your money and don’t come here.

Amazing place. Being in town for work, this is the place you want to go to. Small town feel, locals, amazing service and food. Actually, don’t go there, so it doesn’t pack the place for the rest of us visiting. CASH ONLY.

another fantastic spot right in Snyder. Great food and service comfortable atmosphere. A little bit loud at times. Lot of hard surfaces reflecting sound so it can be difficult to hold the conversation. But everybody’s there to have a good time very friendly community. Really enjoyed my visit. Chicken in the grass outstanding sandwich crinkle cut fries that generally depress me, because they’re always too damn hot on the outside and raw in the middle. this is not the case at Brunners. they are cooked perfection extra crispy outstanding. macaroni salad is not to be overlooked either.

We had such high hopes.
We tried to call to make a reservation. Phone was busy. So we went and had to wait, ok, it’s a busy Friday for fish fries. But there were so many empty tables just waiting to be cleaned off and no one cleaning them. We were a group of 3 but a table of 3 friends of the waitress/es who came in after us were sat at a table for 6 and the one waitress was too busy chatting with them leaving just one waitress and a hostess struggling. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes just for the one table to get cleaned and were about to leave when we were finally seated.
The fish fry batter was rubbery, not crispy. The mac salad was from a bucket behind the bar and was warm.
Only vegetarian option for a meal is grilled cheese.
It was so loud you had to basically yell to talk.
They don’t take cards, only cash.
This place would be great to go to as a bar but we would never come again for food.

Dinner on Friday. Busy place. Waited at the bar for table. Good beer selection. I liked the fish with tomatoes and parmesan, my wife thought the Greek style fish was over seasoned. Generous portions. Friendly and efficient staff. Will stop here again

Great place to get a fish fry. But they get busy and it’s very loud in the dining room. We parked in the street because the lot was full. The food was great. Oh, they are cash only.

Walked in after our daughters basketball game at around 7, wasn’t the fact we waited at the door for 15 minutes, or we didn’t get greeted for another 15 minutes, but the way the server/bartender talked to us. We wrote our order down for him to help take away the stress of him being slammed, but didn’t like that, told my best friend he didn’t “need to hear all that” when he ordered, and with our child going to school next door, and her having their jersey on, we figured they would’ve been happy with our service. Around 7:40 we finally got drinks, but his attitude, although busy, wasn’t needed or warranted. I know people have off nights, but this was at minimum $100 walking out of your restaurant. I cancelled the order and we went on our way
