Tacoa is one of those spots you keep coming back to because it just feels right.
The food is consistently fire! Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really makes Tacoa special is the people behind it. Jose and his wife Jessica are super hands-on and always around, checking in, talking to customers, and making sure everyone feels welcomed. You don’t get that everywhere, and it shows.
The vibe is warm and comfortable, like a neighborhood spot that actually cares about the community. You can tell there’s pride in everything they do, from the food to the way they treat people. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick meal or sitting down with friends, it always hits.
If you want legit Mexican food with great energy and even better service, Tacoa doesn’t miss. Highly recommend.

Our fav hidden secret. Jose makes amazing margs. Weekdays they’re $6!!! The food is so good. My fav is pescado taco and al pastor taco. Def check it out. We are obsessed and I’m Mexican and a harsh critic.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tacoa | Tacos y Tequila for lunch, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The nacho salsa was nothing short of exceptional—bold flavors that truly popped! A special mention to Jose, the owner, whose helpfulness and positive attitude made our visit even more enjoyable. I left feeling very satisfied with both the food and the service. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First of all – thank you to Jessica who provided us with amazing service at the counter. We ordered 4 tacos Al pastor, 4 tacos de carnitas, pozole and a carne asada burrito.
The Al pastor tacos were amazing – the pineapple really added a lot.
The carnitas were salty and overfried, making it a bit dry and unenjoyable.
The pozole was a minuscule portion for the $15; considering the ingredients of a pozole I was really surprised how little they gave for how much one pays. Tasted good but lower the price or increase portion size.
The carne asada burrito was really good. I think burritos might be where the value is at for this place.
Overall place seems a bit expensive for what you get.
I’ll be back to give another try but primarily because Jessica left a very positive impression and gave great service!

Service was great, very helpful and friendly staff. The food was very fresh and flavorful, with lots of options (menu pictures attached). Authentic tasting with lots of seating and a fairly large bar on the other side of the restaurant with a huge opening. Fun atmosphere and great vibes, well decorated and fun colors.
Plenty of parking with many other stores for your needs.

My wife and I came here for dinner on a Saturday (10/7) night. We’ve been here once before and thought we’d return. We love Mexican food and margaritas so Tacoa it is. The place is not very big with two dining areas. The 2nd dining area also happens to be where the bar is too. Ordering is at the counter. Not crowded at all, waited just a few minutes to place our order. Drink orders are all handled at the bar. The host was friendly. We ordered our margaritas at the bar and had drinks in our hands within 5 minutes. Our food order was delivered to our table within about 10 minutes. Here are the impressions. Food presentation is a 5/5. Food taste is VERY good however a tad on the greasy side so a 4.5/5. Portions are what I expected for a $4-$5 taco. It’s loaded with the fillings… no complaints there. The drinks… (we got the Blood Orange, the Spicy Mango, and the Cadillac) were all VERY good. Mixing cocktails at home has been a hobby of mine. I use top shelf ingredients and am often disappointed when I order cocktails at restaurants. There are only a few places where I will order cocktails and Tacoa is certainly one of them! A solid 5/5. Good job guys! Overall experience is a 5/5. Value to price ratio a 5/5. The place as I said is located in a weird spot. It’s not super visible off Folsom blvd. It’s like a hidden little gem to get great Mexican food and drinks. The atmosphere inside is welcoming. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by grab a couple of tacos and stay for a couple of drinks. You won’t be disappointed. If you find this review helpful, hit the like button below!

Came by for lunch- staff was friendly and the atmosphere seems really nice inside. Super clean and nice decor as well.
As for the food- tacos were decent, normal restaurant style tacos. They are a bit messy to eat and overfilled with toppings. They weren’t conservative with the shrimp either so that was good.
Also has carnitas burrito- it was kind of bland. The tortilla wasn’t really heated correctly. No crunchiness and actually felt a little soggy.
Overall I’d give it a 3/5. Definitely not the best place to get tacos in Sacramento.

Ordered 3 tacos, Al pastor, asada, tripas.
The tripas was really good. I feel like the meats are good but the salsas didn’t have much flavor. For me the salsas are what really complete a taco so I would say they’re 6.5/10. Easily a 9/10 with better salsa
