Everywhere I expected meat, there was just bone slathered in sauce—and I didn’t even use the sauce provided at the table. For the cherry on top, I felt violently ill (vomiting) a bit after eating some and let a waitress know who blew me off. The sickness and vomiting continued throughout the entire day and very late into the night (I’m writing this sick at one in the morning) it was the only thing I ate today.
Bad food is one thing. Getting sick from it is another. We won’t be back.
ITS A MUST! Guys!
i’ve never eaten in Famous Dave’s before but the menu is impressively big with loads to chose from. Food was amazing 10/10 and the server Marlee made sure i was taken care of. She could see i wasn’t having a good day and took the time to cheer me up and help me pick out food to try.
This place has a cool vibe, not too busy and the service is fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be going there again.
We ordered St. Louis baby back ribs and fries
Best food ever and we spent $33
Would highly recommend this place, food only took about 10-15 minutes to cook.
The meats were moist and tender and the sauces were yummy (thankfully not heavily ketchup based like some other places have). The cornbread was honey delicious! I think the beans could use a little more meat in them, unless I just got a poor scoop.
The one semi-negative I would say is the banana pudding. Our waitress raved about it so we tried it, and we were sad that it was at least 1/2 marshmallow. That much marshmallow really takes away from the pudding, wafers, and whipcream.
Staff is always great. This time I did order takeout and it was ready and hot. Fast pick up. Friendly cashier. Food was still a great presentation in the Togo container.
The Devil’s Spit burger: always grilled to order, with the perfect amount of char on the outside, tender, juicy and piquant; the Devil’s Spit pickles add a perfect, spicy tang that completes the experience. I personally went with the old stand-by side of fries, because Dave’s provides myriad options to slather my spud sticks in capsaicin-infused sauces. Big props to the Georgia Mustard and Wilbur’s Revenge (especially when mixed together) as the ultimate dipping sauce(s). I’ve sampled several of the other sides as well, and most are competent if not outstanding, although the collard greens with bacon are bloody fantastic.
Do other places do barbecue better than Dave’s? I couldn’t tell you. But they make a mean burger, one that has few rivals that can stand toe-to-toe with it. If going to a BBQ joint and ordering a burger is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
