Almost forgot their 6oz sirloin lunch special was cooked perfectly, and the 3 piece chicken tenders meal was so much food.

Update #2
Someone called shortly after my last update and we had a nice conversation.
He offered to send me a gift certificate to try Sizzler again. I must say the food was MUCH better this time. Service was amazing and our waitress Chantel went above and beyond to make us some of her secret steak sauce after I requested Heinz 57. What she made was pretty close! We really appreciated her efforts. Back to the food, the steak was cooked perfectly and tasted like it just came off the grill. The Malibu chicken was also very good and tasted fresh. Last but not least the baked potato was hot and fresh. We also were visiting by the manager, her name escapes me, but she said she was recently promoted to management. She was friendly and want to ensure that everyone was happy. We saw her visit every table to make sure everyone was satisfied with their meal. This was the experience we were looking for from our first visit. I’m happy to say we will be returning now. Thanks!

My wife and I went here for dinner, and I’m pretty sure we accidentally ordered from the “Timberland Footwear” collection. Her steak was tougher than a hiking boot, and mine wasn’t much better—I think I developed a six-pack just from trying to chew it.
I ordered the “Classic Trio,” which turned out to be a trio of disappointments. The shrimp arrived so cold I’m surprised they weren’t wearing tiny parkas. Apparently, “fresh from the sea” actually meant “fresh from an industrial freezer and left on a counter to contemplate life.” Even a heat lamp would have been a luxury at that point.
The Malibu Chicken followed suit, bringing its own arctic chill to the table. The only thing that didn’t require a microwave and a chainsaw was the baked potato, and even that was just “okay”—which, in this context, made it the culinary equivalent of a Nobel Prize winner.
We both gave up on the steaks halfway through because we weren’t prepared for that much jaw cardio or that much gristle. I’ve been looking forward to this place for a while, but the only thing I’m looking forward to now is never coming back. If you’re looking for a meal that doubles as a survivalist endurance test, this is your spot. Otherwise, run.

It’s always nice when great service makes a first visit memorable, and Chante definitely did that for us. If you’re dining here, I hope you get her as your server!
Moreover the service was fantastic, especially with Martha, here at Imperial Ave in SD. She never seemed rushed, nor did she rush us. The salad bar was always at its optimal stock and often the edges were cleaned. She and the rest of the staff were very pleasant & patient from when we walked in (dealing with the payment pad) & throughout our visit. They seem to have a good camaraderie with each other which makes for a pleasant atmosphere.
A happy staff is a happier restaurant. I thank Martha & the other staff members for their genuine smiles & hospitality.
