Our party of seven happened to get there eight minutes before the opening time, which is five pm. We were greeted by a gentleman who identified himself as the chef of the establishment, who told us we could sit wherever we liked. We chose the outdoor deck with a bar adjacent to one of the canals in Freeport, NY. We waited chatting among ourselves until the place was officially opened. The ambiance was great, Reggae music livening the vibes. The menu, while limited, had some interesting entrees like vegetable pasta that has cheese in it. Although I don’t drink alcohol, I found the mixed drinks rather expensive, even water was three dollars. This is the first restaurant where I’ve seen that. My wife and one other member of our party had Moscato, which was nicely chilled but both glass seemed to be poured from different brands, even though only Moscato was listed with no flavour varieties. For appetizers for my wife and I, I chose Jamaican spring rolls, they are two per serving, very tasty, spicy and full of flavour. She (my wife) couldn’t handle the heat, so I ended up eating both orders. She then ordered steamed Mussels paired with Marinara or roasted garlic sauce. All the flavour was in the garlic sauce. The Mussels were steamed but not seasoned. On to the main course, two of us chose the steamed red snapper with spring vegetables and rice and peas. Well steamed fish, yet all the seasoning seem to be within the head and the peas tasted of can from where they came. One of our party had stuffed salmon with shrimp, crab meat and roasted potatoes, for her the salmon was bland but the stuffing was delicious. Another had pineapple salmon, pan roasted with tangy pineapple sauce. His complaint was only the sauce had flavour, no seasoning on the salmon. A few more things, when the wait staff arrived, there was no introduction of themselves to let you know they would be hanging your orders/tables/party. And at the prices of the mixed drinks, they should be served in glasses or glass mugs. Last but not least, nice ADA restrooms, great interior set up, good looking bar. I hope everything I’ve addressed clarified the ratings I gave.

Had a great time eating by the water watching the sunset. Boat riding by. A cold corona with a shot of tequila a lime and a lemon compliment my pineapple salmon. Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits & salmon is one of my favorite fish. The 2 together was amazing. My friend had a grilled shrimp salad that she loved. My other friend had shrimp with fries that she enjoyed very much along with my other friend. lol Who couldn’t stop eating her fries. Lol. If you like spicy rum. The rump punch is delicious.. So if you have time drive your boat on up to the restaurant. Have a drink eat some great food and watch the sunset. If you’re just walking around, let the music draw you in and have a seat. I’ll waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. No matter how you get there boat, car or walk stop by Hurricane Harry’s.

Great music and decent food would likely earn a rating of 6 or 7 out of 10. While the good drinks and music create a fun atmosphere, the overall experience is shaped by the vibe, service, and consistency. If those elements are strong, it could push the rating higher, but the “decent” food keeps it from being a standout.it’s still a “must” whenever I am in New York.

Super great vibe. Reggae playing on the speakers, water views in the background. Cant be beat on a nice summer day. My server was fantastic. She was knowledgeable about meal choices and drinks on the menu. Got bucket of beers stuffed salmon veggies and roasted potatoes. Really foos home-cooked meal feel. They also had great apps. Def will go back.

This was our first time there. The food was really good. We were seated and the hostess provided menus. After reviewing I saw that the table next to us had lobster, however it was not on the menu. I asked our server if they had specials and at 1st she said no. Then said yes. The specials where stuffed lobster which I ate. It was very flavorful but a little overcooked. My husband ordered the braised short rib and that was phenomenal. At 1st we had to wait a while before our server came. A couple who came before us left because they never got service once our severe Christine came to our table she was very personable and attentive. The runners were good and cleaned the tables fast. I think the hostess needs to be trained to provide the specials along with the menu and the severs need to mention and promote the specials. I did wish they offered more on the menu. Overall the vibe and the food was great will be back.

Went for a bday brunch. Had the soup, snapper and pasta–washed down with rum punch. Needless to say we were completely satisfied. Love this place–owner is chef and makes the food. He interacts with his patrons too. He’s had chef training for all over the globe and has brought this expertise to the Nautical Mile. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

The best restaurant in the area and also the only after hours spot when the rest of them close. You can always get the best drinks and food at Harry’s! No cap, been goin here for years and the bartenders pour them well, the owner is the Head Chef so the food is off the hook. You MUST TRY the Jerk Chicken Eggrolls, I have driven out just to get them only. Awesome date spot. Always TONS of girls here, many times more than guys, low cover on busy nights, both live DJ and great house mix keep it always lit!

Food was awesome, and the staff was great. Only couldn’t give 5 stars because they only had 1 bartender and we got our dinner before our drinks but the wait was worth it. I recommend the Jamaican Jerk spring rolls.

My first time noticing this place on the mile. There is an entrance fee of $5 (I’m assuming because it was after 10pm) outdoor bar with great seating on deck. They also have a late night menu and is pretty cheap compare to other places on the mile. My friend tried the jerk sliders which was $9.50, came with 3 sliders (more like a sandwich, pretty big) and french fries and I had the jerk chicken egg roll which was huge and generously filled. Overall good experience. Reason for not a 5 star overpriced drink $15 for a rum punch (house liquor) I’ll definitely go again.
