Charbroiled oysters were delicious overall. Could have done without the BBq style but overall delicious. We had the shrimp and grits along with the Etouffe. Overall taste was good, not great, but still delicious. Service in general was good once you got in as the hostess staff seemed a little on the ” over it” stage of the job.

After being sat, we waited 30 minutes at our table for someone to take our order before I finally had to go to the hostess stand and ask if there is a server assigned to our table. Even still, 10 minutes later, I found another server and asked if she could figure out if someone is supposed to take our order. Someone finally came over and seemed reluctant to have to take our order. And, never acknowledged our wait.
The whole thing was very off putting. I noticed the same thing happened to another table.
I don’t know, for a Saturday night, the place was pretty dead. I guess the oysters were good. And the potato salad.

We love this place. The outdoor dining area is big and perfect. Don’t be turned off if you happen to get the rude hostess, because the servers are awesome! Especially Troy the bartender. He exceeds the bar for customer service. My nephew is very sensitive to smells so seafood places are difficult for us to eat at. Hammerhead Fred’s outdoor dining makes it easier for us. But he still struggled when oysters came. He scooted over a table (we were there during very slow time), and Troy took great care of him. When Troy realized the little dude was getting too hot and impatient, he made him a blue razz “slushy” and his frown turned upside down. I was so proud when he went inside to thank Troy and shake his hand! Hold on to this guy, HF’s!!!!

We come here each year. Good selection of food. They offer both inside and outside seating. We had steak, cheese burger, & Parmesan crusted flounder. Steak is prepared on wood burning stove.

We were greeted by Becky with an incredible smile and VERY friendly. We were seated immediately. Tera arrived shortly with the menus and took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived within minutes and Tera explained a special of prime rib. We both chose the special. We were enjoying our drinks and listening to Rod Stewart. All staff was busy and had the look of happiness as they enjoyed there job. Our dinner arrived hot and perfect. Tera continue to check on us to make sure all was ok. We had a wonderful evening thanks to the Hammerhead staff the food was great as usual. Thank you Hammerhead. Tera you were the shining ⭐ star.

I ordered the sampler platter oysters, and it was pretty good. My wife had the chicken nachos and they were rather embarrassing for a restaurant. The server treated us very well and was on point sorry for the mixed review. I certainly wouldn’t order the nachos, but I wouldn’t be excited about going back. While the oysters sampler platter wasn’t bad. I will say they were pretty small compared to what I’ve had around town yet still kind of pricey.

Excellent dining experience.waitress was attentive and very polite. Refills and pop to go. We started with alligator bites appetizer that included hush puppies.Bites were nicely sized. Puppies were fabulous. Sauce went perfectly with app.I had the parmesan flounder with crab meat and potatoes. Perfectly cooked and great flavor added with the sauce.we also had the blackened mahhia fish sandwich.Very good.Red beans side was excellent.prices were fair with quality of the food and plenty of parking.

I had an absolutely exceptional experience at Hammerhead Fred’s! The staff went above and beyond to work around my needs and make sure my husband and I had the relaxing dinner we were hoping for. There was live music playing, which was great, but when we asked if there was a quieter spot available, they kindly moved us so we could enjoy our meal in peace.
The drink selection was fantastic—my martini was poured so generously I joked that it must have been half the bottle (not complaining, it definitely did the job!). The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect. We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend this spot!

Hammerhead Fred’s is always a must stop in Panama City every year. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them yet. Their food is amazing! We usually stop here on our first night of vacation! The oysters are my favorite. I usually get the baked oyster sampler. It comes out so beautifully presented on a wooden platter. The atmosphere is relaxing and staff are very informative and helpful!
