The food was absolutely delicious. The short ribs were perfectly portioned — just the right amount to leave us satisfied. The scallops, while more of an appetizer-sized portion, were so flavorful that we couldn’t resist ordering a second round. Every bite was incredible!
The drinks were also fantastic — well-crafted and nice and strong, exactly how they should be.
The ambiance was simply amazing. The rooftop setting is stunning, with a beautiful atmosphere that made the evening feel extra special.
A huge shoutout to Peyton, Michael, and Poppy — they were incredibly accommodating and made sure our experience was perfect. Their attentive service truly stood out and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
We highly recommend Day Line Rooftop Restaurant for anyone looking for delicious food, great drinks, and an unforgettable rooftop experience!
Gorgeous setting, fantastic staff and every plate we ordered exceeded all expectation (which is particularly impressive considering so many dishes include caviar or lobster). Best oysters, lobster and caviar I’ve ever had. Even the bread blew us away.
Can’t recommend making the trip enough.
To start: 90+ degree weather and there’s no AC. But the interior design is nice and you have a good view of the Hudson.
We had made a reservation and got sat promptly. This is where it goes downhill. We don’t get acknowledged until an HOUR in where we get water and get asked for drinks. Drink order is taken and then we wait more. Drinks surprisingly come out quick and are tasty. We place our food order as the drinks came out because that was the only chance we even spoke to our server. Now we wait again. 40 mins in we get our raw bar stuff. Then we wait another 20 for the salad and then wait even longer for the entree. The table next to us had the same exact issue where they actually complained and then all of a sudden got their food right away. We ate very quickly in hopes to just get out of there because it was such a bad experience. Only saving grace was the server apologized but then said she couldn’t fire the whole ticket at once because everything had to be coursed. ……. Probably just said that to by the kitchen more time.
Food:
Oysters – they were good. The mignonette was good as well.
Salmon Tartare – absolutely tasteless topped with a stale wonton chip. Embarrassing. Covered in mayo. So much going on with nooo flavor. And 3 dots of freaking Sriracha. Chef really outdone himself on this one.
Dayline Salad – bed of arugula with beets. Once again, no flavor. Pathetic salad. You can tell the theme of this menu.
Uni Nachos – don’t know why but we ventured into this. What we got was stale/soggy potato chips topped with lobster knuckles that had no flavor and 3 slivers of uni that were not from Santa Barbara. The caviar on it made the “nachos” even more fishy rather than adding any salinity to it. Once again horrible flavorless dish. I’m sure in the mind it sounded all great but the execution was…
Crab Carbonara – what in the world is this. I should have cancelled the order after I saw the girl in front with a large party ate it and gave the nasty look. You guessed it. Flavorless and disgusting. It DID have a good portion of crab in there.
Paella – FINALLY a dish with some flavor. Filled with shrimp, lobster, and clams. Flavors were all there. But still clumps of overcooked rice balled together that were separated during the pick up process.
All in all I would save your money and TIME for somewhere else. This place needs a menu revamp and more training. A ton of better restaurants in the Hudson which is 30 mins or Matilda (40mins) for a higher end experience.
