TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

All reviews are honest and opinions are my own.** So happy to have come here. I was here visiting from Alaska for a short trip and glad I was recommended this place by my son! I ordered the slider meal with cheese and it was delicious. The food was piping hot, the chicken sandwich was incredible. Alexis and the staff at this Dave’s were incredibly nice and welcoming. A few recommendations if you’ve never had Dave’s (I never have)- definitely put the honey on your sandwich and use the Dave’s sauce! Wow. Everything was delicious!! Also, get lots of napkins lol. 10/10 go Dave’s hot chicken!

I went to Dave’s Hot Chicken around lunch time. When I went it, it wasn’t crowded at all. Only one person was ahead of me. But after I made my order, there wasn’t a rush!
This was my first time there. I looked at the menu beforehand so I knew what I wanted already. I ordered a #4, which didn’t come with a beverage, by the way. I asked for my chicken to be medium hot. I had a feeling that this place would be hot hot. And the medium was hotter than I had expected, and I like my food spicy. I didn’t get slaw. Just fries. The fries were good. Crinkle fries aren’t my favorite, but these were good; crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. Excellent! The slider was good too. I dipped it in the sauce. Yum! I even dipped the fries in the sauce. I should’ve gotten a larger drink. And I am kind of also wishing I had gotten a shake. But there’s always tomorrow.
The inside of the restaurant is colorful. The patio furniture is bright red. They had a walk up window to place and pick up orders. A man had his puppy with him. It was a nice solo lunch.

Dave’s Hot Chicken was amazing! The food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the seasoning had just the right amount of spice. The fries were also really good and seasoned well. The service was fast and the staff was friendly and professional. Everything tasted great and the whole experience was smooth. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

I heard good things and wanted to try. It was definitely better than some of these restaurants that over charge you for chicken and waffles. But it was just ok to me. The chicken was medium hot but that wasn’t spicy. The actual chicken was bland. The waffle was good. It was fresh and had flavor. Not too sweet and didn’t taste like fried doug.dough. for $10 it was great.

this is amazing. people hate on daves hot chicken so much, but it’s so good. their flavors are amazing & they have various of flavors to choose from unlike canes. binky was very helpful & a positive worker as well. he deserves a raise especially he laughed at my jokes. he went above and beyond to keep customers happy.
