Every dish we ordered was incredible! The drinks were unique and delicious. We ordered the beer martini and the Thai tea rum drink and we’ll be thinking about them for a while! All the waitstaff was friendly and accommodating while I was on crutches. Our server Dallas was so friendly and made our experience great! We will definitely be back!

We dined here for the Valentine’s weekend tasting menu and it was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. For every dish we had delivered the server said “sorry for the wait” because of how long it took. Our reservation was for 6pm and we didn’t leave until 8:45pm. Our apps took atleast an hour and our entrees took another hour after that. Our entrees (steak frites and scallops) were cold and I had to track down the server to ask for help. The server sent a different server over to our table and they only took 1 of the meals away. When it came back, it appeared all they did was put it under a heat lamp and it was then overcooked steak. The manager who brought it said to let her know if we “want anything else instead” and then we never saw her again. Our server never checked on us or followed up. I had to track her down again to ask for boxes for dessert (which look disgusting; supposed to be some kind of raspberry chocolate but there’s Fruity Pebbles?) and the check, and then it took 20 minutes to pay. But they made sure to add 20% gratuity to the check. We have never complained or sent something back at a restaurant before but it was so bad I had a panic attack in the middle of all of it. 0/10 don’t recommend.

The East Passyunk open fire kitchen burns on seasoned wood. Chef Scott creates flavor packed grilled dishes that are well seasoned and very enjoyable. The burger, grilled chicken and crispy octopus all warrant consideration. His wife Lulu works the front of the house and pitches in to distribute timely table side delivery. The service proposition is good, and the staff is friendly and well trained.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and from the beginning it felt a bit off. Let us preface, the service was fine. We asked to start with bread but we were told we had to order everything at once. This threw us off based on how the menu was structured.
When it comes to the food, the flavor was all over the place, some things being very underwhelming others being extremely overwhelming. We ordered the broccoli rabe to start and large parts of it were essentially burnt. We know the draw is food cooked over the fire but when parts turn to ash in your mouth, what then?
Finally the entree’s, my steak frites arrived cold, which I sent back, but when it came back, you could consider it re-fired under a hot lamp. This left it sweating and gummy. My partner got the tile fish, the flavors were great. It was a bit underdone, which she is fine with, but others may not be.
Overall a pretty disappointing experience for the cost of the meal. We were left wanting a lot more.

We had our rehearsal dinner at ember and ash last year (after only being here once before) and had an amazing time, food was spectacular, as were the drinks and service. We came back for our anniversary tonight and had the same experience. Great food drinks and service. Atmosphere was wonderful, our server Devon was lovely. We’ll be back!

NEVER GOING BACK. Honestly, they are lucky I don’t sue them. I spent $200 on 6 courses and by the time the smoked chicken in crying tiger sauce came at the end, we were full and decided to take it with us. I was almost halfway through by the time I cut to the bone and blood and other things started spilling out. This is the most undercooked chicken I have ever been served absolutely disgusting, BUT IF THAT WASN’T BAD ENOUGH the server coughed all over my wife and my wife conveniently came down with a flu the other day. Unprofessional, undercooked, quite frankly overpriced. I booked as a Resy reservation through my AMEX Platinum card and there’s absolutely no reason American Express should be recommending a place like this, hopefully I’ll be able to petition to have them removed from Resy so no AMEX customer ends up with food poisoning or worse. Regardless however, I wouldn’t recommend ANYONE order food from a place that can’t even cook chicken properly.

I highly recommend this place!!!. Me and my partner have come three times, one for our anniversary, a casual dinner and most recently my birthday. We had a great experience the three times. Since we entered, they were all kind, our waiter helped us the first time, he guided us through the menu and we had a great anniversary dinner.

On our most recent visit for my birthday, our experience began very well with my name printed on the menu (a small detail that is appreciated), we saw that there were new dishes that we decided to try them without thinking twice. We had the mushrooms to start with and it had become our favorite dish because we always ordered them, we continued our dinner with the broccoli that was quite good with a crispi texture, we had the kung pao cauliflower that had a great taste and it was also a great complement to start with and also the grilled avocado that I was excited to try, I was not disappointed at all, it was delicious and quite good for a dish that sounds simple. We continued with the Fried Octopus that my partner totally loved, the combination of flavors from the taste of the octopus along with the passion fruit sauce was incredible, we had the gnochi that was quite good, we continued with the lamb ribs, it was a great dish I did not expect I to like it so much since initially I thought I would not like the bittersweet taste but I loved it and I RECOMMEND YOU TRY IT YOURSELF!!!!. Finally, I got the steak frites and my partner ordered the seared hallibut, she loved the taste of the hallibut and as it was complemented by the crab salad, I finally loved the steak frites, I loved the taste and the steak was cooked perfectly. I honestly went to a great dinner and I will return to this place more times, I want to thank ALL the staff for the great birthday I got at Ember and Ash.

Of course, I will return in the future excited to try new dishes 10/10 I’ll recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good night and have a good meal.

This is such a great spot, owners are a local couple and the love comes through. Recently I was getting a drink at the bar at the end of the night and the owner told us he could make extra vegetarian dishes if we just asked. So we did and he came through! We had such a fabulous meal, drinks, service (Thanks Devin!), vibe. Really recommend it for any occassion! And it’s a great bar to sit at too.

My partner and I have become regulars at Ember & Ash. It is one of our favorite places. It will always hold a special place in our hearts as we each went her for the first time on our first date. The service is always phenomenal, the bartenders make the most delicious drinks and cater to my weird requests with joy. What my partner and I also love so much is our service by Devon. She always makes a point to say hi to us when we come in whether or not she’s serving us and she makes sure our needs are met and makes us feel so warm and special.
We usually come here for drinks but it would be nice to see some vegan options on the menu as neither of us eat animals. But no matter what we’re here for we always leave feeling amazing about our service, the ambiance is also lovely.

We were seated promptly even though the restaurant was quite busy. There was a bit of a delay in service, but I almost hesitate to mention it because I would never blame the staff—these things happen in every industry, and it’s completely understandable. What truly matters is how the staff responds, and in this case, they addressed the situation with exceptional kindness and professionalism. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

The food and drinks were excellent. The burger was perfectly cooked and flavorful, the mushrooms were deliciously prepared, and the beet pickle martini was a unique and memorable cocktail. I also really enjoyed the orange wine, which paired beautifully with the meal. As long as the team is courteous and attentive, a brief wait is hardly an issue. Overall, a wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations.
