In 1928, at the height of Prohibition, the 5-8 Club originally opened in Minneapolis MN as a speakeasy. Today, we’re known for our Juicy Lucy cheese-stuffed burger. 5-8 Club has been featured on several syndicated national TV shows, including Adam Richman’s Man v. Food. Our menu at our Minneapolis location includes beer, wine, appetizers, house-made chili and salads, sandwiches, dinner, and specialty burgers made with fresh, never frozen USDA ground chuck on bakery-fresh buns. The place has a nice old tavern vibe. The classic decor surely brings you back in time for sure.
I got the classic Juicy Lucy with Amablu Bleu Cheese and the wife got The Saucy Sally. The Juicy Lucy was crispy with carmelized onions and a hot melted center oozing the Bleu Cheese is definitely unique.
I got to try my wife’s Saucy Sally, her burger was great, the shredded lettuce, perfectly cooked medium patty, onions, American cheese paired with their secret sauce was amazing. A definite must try.
I’m so satisfied the wife and I decided to stop here before we headed off to the airport. A good beer to pair with these burgers would’ve been a classic IPA. The Foggy Geezer I got was hoppy and definitely too citrusy hazy for the burgers.

I had my first JuicyLucy there and added the PB&J one as a “desert“. The burger was great, gooyey on the inside & crispy on the outside. The onions and pickles that came with it were flavorful and the fries were great with a good portion size as well. I loved the option of having carrot sticks instead of fries and being able to add lettuce & tomatoes on my burger.
The PB&J JuicyLucy was something special. I like peanut butter but this was a lot a lot of peanut butter. It might be an amazing burger for some but it was too much for me. The combination was definetly interesting.

I am not always a huge fan of cheese curds but these were legit and that marinara sauce was soooooo good. The classic juicy Lucy with fried onions was absolutely delicious! The saucy Sally juicy Lucy was reported to be excellent as well. Service was fabulous and I loved the atmosphere.

Great burgers..original juicy Lucy’s. The onion rings were excellent. The Jojo potatoes were good but if crisper would be great but the star was the chicken wings in boom boom sauce..I could be very happy with a dozen or so of them. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the taps were not working (broken) so only bottled or canned beer was available

They have a few options, but my favorite is the Peanut butter and jelly jucy Lucy.
The fries are made fresh, and they have coffee and creamer, so that was nice.
The waitress was around, but didn’t check in a lot.
The volume was loud while we were there.
The parking is nice there is a dirt lot on one side, asphalt on the other, and a little curb side parking too.
They have diaper changing stations in both bathrooms i believe.
The entry ramp is long and nice.

Trying an Original Juicy Lucy was a must while in Minneapolis for an event. I’m glad we decided on the 5-8 club. We took a car and enjoyed the drive from downtown. We arrived and the place was packed! Always a good sign! The wait was about 25 minutes. While waiting we browsed all the accolades on the walls and read the history of the Juicy Lucy. Once seated we ordered the cheese curds! They are a must. So delicious! Our Juicy Lucys arrived quickly and were everything we imagined they would be. Thank you 5-8 club and staff for a lunch we won’t forget!

Just had enough time in between an event and our flight. Chose to try to Juicy Lucy at the 5 8 club. So glad we did. Service was amazing. Server was engaging, helpful, and truly cared about our experience. Food was outstanding. Definitely recommend ultimate JoJos and the Juicy Lucy. Great spot with a lot of history.

We went for a night of comparison for the burger world. It has its good things like hasn’t changed much in years. The menu has grown substantially over the years. The best thing on the menu is still the Juicy Lucy. Best part of the meal for me tonight was dessert. The ice cream cake was amazing.

I came to try the Juicy Lucy on my very first trip to Minneapolis. After a busy travel day, I literally walked into the restaurant with my big suitcases and was seated at a convenient table in the corner. My burger was delicious and very filling, couldn’t even finish it. Definitely a treat. The fries were fantastic. I had friendly service and all in all if I lived at all close to the 5-8 Club I would visit on a regular basis. This is a must try!
My salad also had an extraordinary Italian dressing. I’d come back just for the dressing.
