We had an absolutely delicious NYE dinner at Hearth. The calamari and bao bun appetizers were innovative and yummy. The mushroom and fig and prosciutto pizzas were *so* good!! Devon, our food server, was professional and excellent. The restaurant was decorated for NYE and really the entire staff was Cracker Jack. We will definitely come again!

A positive review has been pending for a while. Me and my family visited this restaurant on 23-Jun-2025. After a tiring tour at Longwood gardens we all wanted to treat ourselves with good food. We decided to have a late lunch at HearthKitchen and the decision was absolutely right ! Have tried food at good restaurants both locally and internationally. But the taste of food here just stands out. Food was so fresh and tasty. We have ordered Burgers, beef steak, lamb chops, pasta, fried rice and pizza too !!! I cannot point out/highlight a single negative point about food. Especially when kids are happy you are happy too Such a great experience and would really recommend this place. Awesome customer service is one thing I would like to highlight.
I would have given a 5 ⭐️ rating if it was not for the frequent power cut issue on that particular day and issue with credit card machine. I’m sure it’s a once off issue and since then management would have taken actions to have an emergency/backup, power supply to deal with internet/credit card machine connectivity.
Overall a great experience and yummy food….

This place has so much potential and we really wanted to love it because we need a new local spot. But…… We ordered craft cocktails from the specialty menu and they were watered down. We had to order extra shots of liquor, for which we were charged, even though we told the server that the drinks tasted watered down. The salmon smelled old. The prosciutto pizza was made with plain, cold, ham. The server was attentive and friendly but that can’t make up for very expensive disappointing drinks and food.

My husband and I recently visited Hearth, curious to form our own opinion despite the mixed reviews. While we wanted to love it, we were sorely disappointed, as the exceptional service, inviting atmosphere, and perfect drinks couldn’t make up for the lackluster food.
We started our evening with drinks, and they were, without a doubt, a highlight. As my go-to cocktail, my Manhattan was absolutely perfect, and my husband was very pleased with his beer selection. We also shared the roasted carrots as an appetizer, a dish that was truly delicious and proved to be the best part of our meal. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable—our server was attentive, kind, and handled our feedback with grace.
Unfortunately, our main courses were a different story. I ordered the gnocchi with roasted mushrooms, a dish that was, for lack of a better word, inedible. The gnocchi’s texture was a uniform mush, and the accompanying sauce was completely flavorless. I am not one to send a dish back lightly, but I had no choice.
I ordered the Margherita pizza as a replacement. The pizza was just okay, nothing to write home about.
My husband’s entrée, the Euro Chicken Breast, fared only slightly better. While the chicken itself was cooked perfectly and had a nice sauce, the “1000 layer” potatoes were hard, dry, and lacked any discernible flavor.
In the end, the best dish we had all night was the roasted carrots appetizer. While the non-culinary aspects of our visit were spectacular, Hearth’s kitchen simply did not live up to the standard set by the rest of the restaurant.

Been to two Michelin starred restaurants in my life and the service here was on par with both. Drinks are a solid 9.5/10 overall with the presentation for some (Kennett Squared and I’ll Picante) really brings a wow factor. Made-in-house pasta, delicious pizza, and unique shareables made it an amazing dining experience overall. Been here twice so far with more visits planned for the future. Recommendations would be garlic bread, south Philly pizza, and cacio e pepe, but the medi trio and pork chop are great too.

Came here a few months back and dined in. The service and atmosphere was good but the food itself wasa mediocre at best. Tonight we wanted to give it another shot and ordered takeout of 6 items. It was ready on time and very quick. Bartender was very nice when getting my order. When I arrived home 15 minutes later, I realized the hostess never rang in 2/6 of the items we ordered so we never received those. The spicy rigatoni was mediocre and lukewarm. I bit into something hard thinking it was an undercooked piece of pasta, but it was a small piece of a toothpick that cut the roof of my mouth. The lamb meatballs came in a container with only 5 meatballs and nothing else inside. They were also mediocre and dry, not worth the price whatsoever. When we called to complain, the person who answered the phone (not a host) was very nice, offered for us to come get the 2 missing meals free of charge, and compensated the spicy rigatoni. Although the customer service is nice, the food is not worth the price. We will not be coming back.

They lost themselves as having mediterranean dishes, but when I got there no such dish was on the menu. The young lady at the front desk was so very sweet, polite and kind. She too stated they do not have much for Mediterranean food… looks beautiful inside very nice atmosphere.

Hate to leave a bad review, but it feels necessary for what Hearth gave on our last visit. Overall I’m just sad to see such a stark decline in one of my favorite dinner date spots. Seems like there was a change of chef or management or something to cut costs and change rules, and it has impacted the place for the worse.
My man and I loved this spot, regularly dined here for months. The atmosphere, food, service, all really wonderful. Our most recent visit, I ordered the lamb and it was very disappointing. Firstly, the dish is now served with 3 chops instead of 4… so a 25% decrease in product, but the price is just as high. Additionally, the “medium rare” lamb was overcooked, came with a mustard sauce on top of the chops. It just doesn’t go well with a Greek dish, and no high quality meat should be smothered in sauce. If they wanna change their menu, who am I to tell them not to? But at least change the menu to indicate there would be mustard. Plus, they changed the side potatoes from the “thousand layer,” to fingerlings which feels lazy and cheaper.
When the waiter came over to ask how everything was, I said the mustard sauce was not to my taste, but I even said it’s okay, I will just scrape it off (I hate sending food back hahaha). He offered to grill the mustard off, which unfortunately overcooked the chops even more I really didn’t make a fuss about it, but then the manager (? I assume) came over and was like “we changed the menu a while ago, it’s been fingerling potatoes for a while.” And I was just confused… like okay? I didn’t complain or make a fuss it wasn’t that way like the last 10 times I ordered it, so I didn’t think to analyze the description to see if it changed. And I didn’t even ask to speak to a manager about it, I really didn’t make a fuss. I said thank you, everything is good. But yeah, really weird vibe, really different and cold atmosphere, and the service was inattentive. The waiter was often looking away, seemed irritated, and absentminded during service, despite the restaurant being pretty slow.

Great local spot. We stopped here before our trip to Longwood Gardens.
Don’t let the location in a strip mall fool you. This place is beautifully decorated, superb staff and great food.
Click on the photos to see what we ordered.

Cozy restaurant in Kennett Square. Notably serves a few pasta dishes and several pizza options. First time dinning in and it was great. Staff was friend and helpful. Food was very good. Ordered pasta with short rib and it was tasty. Partner ordered a steak and it was cooked to perfection. Drinks were tasty and desserts were great. Overall I’d love to visit again, next you time I’d like to try their pizzas since there were a few eye catching combinations.
